JU Evening BE Admission 2027, once called JEEDEC, is Jadavpur University’s own admission to its 5-year evening BE in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering for working diploma holders. JU’s Faculty of Engineering & Technology runs it, not WBJEEB. The 2027-28 notice is expected around July 2027; the 2026 entrance test was waived.

JU Evening BE Admission 2027 Important Dates
Jadavpur University has not announced the 2027-28 admission, so the table shows expected months. In 2026 JU fixed a test for 18 August, then waived it and admitted listed candidates after document verification on 24 August 2026.

How to Apply for JU Evening BE Admission 2027
You apply online on the Faculty of Engineering & Technology (FET) admission portal once the 2027-28 notice is out. Up to 2024-25 the form was on the old jucem.formflix.com portal; from 2025-26 JU uses its own FET portal.
Apply Online for JU Evening BE 2027
The JU Evening BE 2027 application dates have not been announced yet.
- Open the JU FET admission portal and sign up when the 2027-28 form for working professionals opens.
- Fill in your personal, diploma and job details, and choose the BE branch that matches your diploma branch.
- Upload scanned documents as colour PDFs (150 dpi, up to 500 KB each): photo ID, Class 10 admit card and mark sheet, Class 12 mark sheet if any, diploma mark sheets, category or PwD certificate, photo and signature.
- Upload an employment-cum-No Objection Certificate from your present employer, proof of the employer (Form 16, GST, PAN, TAN or trade licence) and all earlier experience letters.
- Pay the application fee online (Rs 500 through SBI i-Collect in 2024-25), submit the form and keep a printout. JU treats the printout as proof in all later communication.

Who can apply for JU Evening BE Admission 2027?
You can apply if you hold a diploma in the same engineering branch you want and have worked for at least a year after it. These rules are from the 2024-25 brochure; JU has not published 2027-28 rules yet.
- Diploma in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, in the same branch as the BE you choose, from a UGC-recognised university or a government or statutory body.
- At least 60% aggregate in the diploma (45% for SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B and PwD). Grade points are converted with your board’s formula or AICTE’s formula: (grade point – 0.75) x 10.
- At least one year of work experience after the diploma, counted up to the last date of application.
- You must be working now in a registered industry, a central or state organisation, a company or an MSME within 75 km of the university.
- Final-year or appearing diploma students cannot apply.
- Reserved seats need SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD or EWS certificates issued in West Bengal.
The 2024-25 brochure gives no B.Sc. route and no upper age limit.
What is the JU Evening BE 2027 entrance test pattern?
When JU holds the test, it is a 90-minute offline MCQ paper set separately for each diploma branch. The 2024 pattern is below; the 2027-28 notice will say whether a test is held at all.

In the Civil Engineering paper, 10 questions (20 marks) come from Strength of Materials and Engineering Mechanics and 40 questions (80 marks) from civil engineering subjects. The branch-wise syllabus lists every topic.
How are JU evening BE seats filled?
JU fills each branch from a merit list of entrance test scores, followed by physical verification of original documents. In 2026, with the test waived, JU called candidates from a published list straight to document verification.
- Ties in the merit list are broken by diploma percentage, then Class 10 percentage, then the older candidate.
- Selected candidates report for physical verification-cum-provisional admission; JU then declares vacancies and admits waitlisted candidates.
- Classes run from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, Monday to Friday, and 2:00 to 5:00 PM on Saturday. Civil Engineering field work and tours are held on some Sundays.
The 2024-25 seat matrix had 58 seats in each branch plus one Central Government (other) seat.
