The B.A.LL.B. paper now has 150 questions in 2 hours in three sections, so the 2022 to 2026 papers match AILET 2027 on 13 December 2026 most closely.

How the AILET Paper Changed (2015–2026)
- 2015 to 2021: the B.A.LL.B. paper had 150 marks in 90 minutes, in five sections: English, General Knowledge, Legal Aptitude, Reasoning and Mathematics.
- 2022 and 2023: still 90 minutes, but only three sections: English, Current Affairs and General Knowledge, and Logical Reasoning. From the 2023 cycle the test moved to December of the previous year.
- 2024 onwards: both papers run for 120 minutes, and the LL.M. paper has 100 questions. Logical Reasoning carries 70 of the 150 B.A.LL.B. marks.
- Using older papers: the English and Reasoning questions from 2015 to 2021 are good practice. Skip their Legal Aptitude and Mathematics sections, which are no longer tested.
How to Use AILET Previous Year Papers?
- Time the B.A.LL.B. paper at 2 hours. 150 questions in 120 minutes is 48 seconds a question. Older 90-minute papers are a good speed drill.
- Guess only after cutting options. At −0.25, a blind guess among four options gains about 0.06 marks on average. Ruling out two options lifts that to about +0.375.
- Train hardest on Logical Reasoning. It has 70 of 150 questions. The 2022 to 2026 papers show the current style, where legal principles may appear but no legal knowledge is needed.
- Solve 2026, 2025 and 2024 first, because they have the 2-hour pattern and final or moderated keys. Then use 2022 and 2023, which have the same three sections.
- Use the six weeks to 13 December 2026. One full paper every three to four days, checked against its key, covers the last ten papers before the test. Keep the last week for revising mistakes.

How many questions are there in the AILET B.A.LL.B. paper?
150 multiple-choice questions for 150 marks in 2 hours: English 50, Current Affairs and General Knowledge 30, and Logical Reasoning 70.
Is there negative marking in AILET?
Yes. Each correct answer gets 1 mark and 0.25 mark is cut for every wrong answer.
Why was AILET 2026 held in 2025?
NLU Delhi now holds AILET in December of the year before admission. AILET 2026 was held on 14 December 2025, and AILET 2027 is on 13 December 2026.
Are the AILET LL.M. and Ph.D. papers here?
LL.M. papers are here for 2016 to 2024 and 2026, and Ph.D. papers for 2016 to 2024. AILET 2026 had no Ph.D. test, and Ph.D. admission now uses NLU Delhi’s separate AIET.
Which AILET papers have answer keys?
Every year from 2016 to 2026 has at least one NLU Delhi key. There is no key for 2015, and the 2021 B.A.LL.B. key is not available.
Are pre-2022 AILET papers still useful?
Yes, for English and Reasoning. The 2021 and earlier papers also had Legal Aptitude and Mathematics, which are no longer in the B.A.LL.B. paper.
