UG papers follow the WBCHSE Class 11 and 12 syllabus of the subject, PG papers the subject at graduation level, and every paper also has 30 marks of GK, English and Islamic History & Culture. The 2027 brochure is expected around April 2027.

What is the AUAT syllabus for UG programmes?
UG papers test the subject of your programme at Class 11 and 12 level. These are the topics given in the 2026 brochure.

What is the AUAT syllabus for PG programmes?
Most PG papers test the subject at graduation level. Some programmes have their own list of topics.
- M.A. and M.Sc programmes: the concerned subject at UG (Honours or Major) level.
- M.Tech: the B.Tech syllabus of an AICTE-approved college in the branch, or the GATE syllabus for that subject.
- MCA: Fundamentals of Computers, C Programming, Data Structures, Object Oriented Programming, Operating Systems, DBMS, Computer Networks, Linear Algebra, Probability and Statistics, Discrete Mathematics and Numerical Methods.
- MBA (2-year): Data Analysis and Interpretation, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude as per the CAT syllabus, English Comprehension and English Language Aptitude.
- Master’s in Data Science and Applied Statistics: Algebra, Analysis, Probability and Statistics at UG level.
- M.A. Journalism and Mass Communication: English, language and literature, fundamentals of journalism and mass communication, sports and cinema.
- LL.M.: the LL.B. programme of a recognised university.
What is in AUAT Part II (General Knowledge, English, Islamic History)?
Part II carries 30 marks in every AUAT paper, split between the three areas in about a 1:1:4 ratio, so Islamic History & Culture carries the most weight.
- General English: vocabulary, grammar and comprehension at Class 12 level.
- General Knowledge: History (Medieval and Modern India), Geography, Political Science, General Science and Current Affairs.
- Islamic History & Culture: Class 12 level.
What is the AUAT 2027 exam pattern and marking?
Each AUAT paper is 100 marks in 2 hours, answered on an OMR sheet. This is the 2026 pattern.

Where can you download the AUAT syllabus PDF?
The syllabus is printed in the AUAT information brochure on the official AUAT page; the 2027 brochure is expected with the form around April 2027. Until then, use the AUAT 2026 brochure, or the AUAT 2025 syllabus pages, which have the same topics.
How should you prepare for AUAT 2027?
- Start with the WBCHSE or NCERT Class 11 and 12 textbooks of your subject, since UG papers follow that syllabus.
- For Islamic Theology and Islamic Studies, revise the Fazil syllabus of the West Bengal Board of Madrasah Education.
- Give regular time to Part II, especially Islamic History & Culture, which carries most of the 30 marks.
- If you apply for Bengali, English, Arabic or Journalism, practise short written answers for the 14-mark descriptive part.
- Solve the AUAT question papers of 2022 and 2024 in 2 hours each to get used to the 100-mark format.
