BITS HD 2027 is the computer-based Higher Degree admission test that BITS Pilani conducts for its M.E. and M.Pharm. programmes at the Pilani, K K Birla Goa and Hyderabad campuses. Dates are not announced yet. Going by 2026, the application should open in February 2027 and the test should be held in May 2027.

How to Apply for BITS HD 2027
You apply for BITS HD 2027 online only, through the login and apply link on the official BITS HD admissions page, which leads to the application portal hosted on bitspilaniedu.com. The 2027 form has not opened yet. In 2026 it was open from 18 February to 5:00 PM on 20 April.
Apply Online for BITS HD 2027
Applications for BITS HD 2027 are expected in February 2027.
- Open the official BITS HD admissions page and use the login/apply link when the 2027 form opens.
- Register and fill in your personal details and your qualifying degree details.
- Choose how you want to be considered: GATE/GPAT score only, BITS HD test only, or both.
- List your programme preferences after checking the programme-wise eligibility in Annexure I of the brochure.
- If you take the HD test, pick three test cities. If you use GATE or GPAT, upload a self-attested scorecard and enter its validity.
- Pay the fee online, submit the form before the deadline and keep a printout for reference.
You may submit only one application. After the deadline, BITS opens a short editing window for a few fields only; in 2026 it ran on 22 and 23 April. In 2026, GATE or GPAT scores of 2024, 2025 or 2026 were accepted.
The fee below is from the 2026-27 brochure. It is non-refundable and not transferable. The 2027 fee will be confirmed in the new brochure.

Who can apply for BITS HD 2027?
You need at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree examination for M.E. or M.Pharm. Each programme also asks for a degree in a related discipline, as listed below from the 2026-27 brochure.

- M.E. admissions use GATE scores and M.Pharm. admissions use GPAT scores; GATE does not count for M.Pharm. and GPAT does not count for M.E.
- M.E. Advanced Electronic Systems and Smart Manufacturing is industry-sponsored: an interview carries 30% weight along with the HD test or GATE score (70%).
- If you choose a programme you are not eligible for, that preference is excluded and you can be disqualified from the HD test.
What is the BITS HD 2027 exam pattern?
BITS HD is a computer-based test of multiple-choice questions in English, with a compulsory Test I and a discipline test. The pattern below is from the 2026-27 brochure; see the BITS HD syllabus for the topics.

Each correct answer gets 3 marks and each wrong answer loses 1 mark; skipped questions get zero. Questions are drawn at random from a question bank, so candidates get different sets of comparable difficulty. You may bring a calculator without a programmable feature or network connection, and your score is shown on screen when you finish.
