The CULET-UG 2027 syllabus covers five subject areas: English, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Reasoning, General Mathematics and Indian Polity. The University of Calcutta names only these areas in its admission notice, with no chapter list or section-wise marks. The test has 100 MCQs for 100 marks in 2 hours.

What is the CULET-UG 2027 syllabus?
The official syllabus is a list of five subject areas. The topics in the second column are what these areas usually test at 10+2 level; they are a study guide, not an official list.

The university does not say how many questions come from each area, so prepare all five evenly.
What is the CULET-UG 2027 exam pattern and marking?
You answer 100 multiple-choice questions on a computer in 2 hours, for 100 marks.
- +1 mark for each correct answer, -0.25 for each wrong answer and 0 for a question you leave.
- An on-screen scientific calculator is available, and rough paper is given in the hall.
- If two candidates tie, the one with fewer wrong answers ranks higher.
- Marks from different shifts are normalised by the Z-score method.

Where can I download the CULET-UG syllabus PDF?
There is no separate syllabus PDF. The subject areas are printed in the admission notice. Until the 2027 notice is out, the 2026 notice below is the latest official source.

How to Prepare for CULET-UG 2027
- Read a newspaper daily and keep short notes on national and West Bengal news, awards, sports and appointments.
- Revise the Indian Constitution from the NCERT Class 11 Political Science book (Indian Constitution at Work).
- Practise Class 10 level arithmetic and basic reasoning puzzles against the clock.
- For English, practise comprehension passages and common grammar errors.
- Use the official CBT mock test link when the university posts it (from 11 August in 2026) to get used to the screen and the calculator. It is a practice interface, not a sample paper.
The University of Calcutta does not publish past CULET-UG question papers.
