CCMT 2026 Seat Allotment

The CCMT 2026 seat allotment is the official seat assignment to each registered candidate in each round of CCMT counselling. The allotment is based on three factors: (1) the candidate’s GATE score and merit rank, (2) the choice list filled and locked by the candidate, and (3) the availability of seats in the chosen programmes / institutes / category. After each round, NIC publishes the result on ccmt.admissions.nic.in and the candidate’s Provisional Seat Allotment Letter (PSAL) becomes downloadable in the candidate login after payment of the Seat Acceptance Fee.

Understanding Willingness Options (Float, Slide, Freeze)

WillingnessWhat it MeansBest Used When
FloatConsidered for all better-preferred choices across all institutes in the next round. You are not satisfied with the allotted seat and are open to any better choice anywhere.
SlideConsidered for better-preferred choices only within the currently allotted institute. You like the allotted institute but want a better branch within it.
FreezeNo change in seat allotment in subsequent rounds. You are happy with the allotted seat and do not want any further upgrade.
Surrender & Participate in Next RoundReject the current seat; only get a better choice if available, else no seat.Use cautiously – risky. You give up the current seat for a chance at a better one.

Important: The willingness change rules are one-directional – Float can be changed to Slide / Freeze / Surrender, and Slide can be changed to Freeze. But the reverse (e.g., Freeze to Float) is not permitted.

CCMT 2026 Seat Allotment – Common Scenarios

  • No seat in Round 1: Your choices may have closed at a higher GATE score. Wait for Round 2 (June 22, 2026) – vacant / surrendered seats redistribute then.
  • Allotted a low-preference seat: Pay SAF, choose Float, upload documents, and wait for upgrade in R2 / R3.
  • Allotted but not interested: Either Surrender & Participate in Next Round (risky) or pay SAF + Freeze, then formally Withdraw.
  • Document verification query raised: Log in and respond promptly with clarification or revised document. Non-response within window = seat cancelled.
  • No seat after Round 3: Participate in Special Round 1 / SR-2 (Phase II) by fresh registration; vacant seats from withdrawal will be available.
  • Want to drop the seat after Regular Rounds: Use online withdrawal (OTP-authenticated) before July 6, 2026. SAF + PAF refund will follow CCMT refund rules.

CCMT 2026 Document Verification (Online)

All document verification in CCMT 2026 is online. After uploading documents, the verifying officer of the Allotted Institute reviews them in your portal. If satisfied, an Online Document Verification Certificate (ODVC) is generated in your dashboard. If a query is raised, log in and respond promptly – non-response results in seat cancellation. The ODVC will state one of these:

  • Documents Verified Online for minimum eligibility
  • Seat cancelled and eligible for subsequent rounds
  • Seat cancelled and not eligible for subsequent rounds

How do I check my CCMT 2026 seat allotment result?

On the allotment date, log in to ccmt.admissions.nic.in with your Application Number and Password, click Seat Allotment Result, and view your allotted institute / programme. Then pay the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) to download the Provisional Seat Allotment Letter (PSAL) and proceed with document upload and willingness submission.

How is CCMT 2026 seat allotment decided?

Seat allotment is based on three factors: (1) the candidate’s GATE score and merit rank; (2) the choice list (order of preference) the candidate has filled and locked; and (3) availability of seats in the chosen programmes / institutes / category. The category-wise seat sequence in the brochure (Section 3.2) determines which seat category is offered to each candidate.

What should I do after CCMT 2026 seat allotment?

After seat allotment, pay the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) of Rs. 30,000 (GEN/EWS/OBC) or Rs. 10,000 (SC/ST/PwD) via the candidate portal. Then download the PSAL, upload required documents for online verification, and submit your willingness (Float / Slide / Freeze) for subsequent rounds. After Round 3, pay the Partial Admission Fee (PAF) between July 2 – 6, 2026 to confirm the seat. Finally, report physically at the allotted institute between August 5 – 11, 2026 with balance fee.

I didn’t get a seat in Round 1. What should I do?

If no seat is allotted in Round 1, do nothing – your choices automatically carry forward to Round 2 (June 22, 2026). You will be considered again based on seat availability from withdrawals and float / slide movements. If still no seat after Round 3, you can register fresh for the Special Rounds (Phase II, July 14 – 18, 2026) by paying the SR Registration Fee plus SR Participation Fee.

What is the difference between Float, Slide, and Freeze in CCMT 2026?

Float means you are considered in the next round for all better-preferred choices across all institutes. Slide means you are considered only for better choices within your currently allotted institute. Freeze means you accept the allotted seat as final – no further upgradation. Use Float if you are open to any better seat; Slide if you like the institute but want a better branch in it; Freeze if you are satisfied with the current allotment.

Can I withdraw from CCMT 2026 after seat allotment?

Yes. After successful document verification, you can withdraw from CCMT 2026 online via your candidate login (OTP-authenticated). Withdrawal within the Regular Rounds window allows refund of SAF / PAF as per refund rules (with a processing fee deduction of Rs. 2,000). After withdrawal, you can still participate in Special Rounds and NSR as a fresh candidate by paying a new Registration Fee plus Participation Fee.

When is physical reporting at the Finally Allotted Institute?

Physical reporting at the Finally Allotted Institute (FAI) takes place between August 5 – 11, 2026 for all candidates admitted through Regular Rounds, Special Rounds, or National Spot Round. Bring all original documents, photocopies, proof of fee payment, and pay the balance institute admission fee at the FAI. Failing to report by the deadline results in seat cancellation and forfeiture of deposited fees.
