What is the CUET Entrance Exam?
The CUET stands for Common University Entrance Test. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC). CUET 2026 Application Form – Registration Process
The CUET application form was released by NTA on January 3, 2026 at cuet.nta.nic.in. The last date to apply was February 4, 2026, which NTA later reopened from February 23 to 26, 2026 to accommodate more candidates. The application correction window was open from February 9 to 11, 2026. About 15,68,866 candidates registered for CUET UG 2026, making it the second-largest entrance examination in India after NEET.

CUET Application Fee Structure
The CUET application fee depends on the candidate’s category and the number of subjects chosen. The fee structure announced by NTA for the 2026 cycle is as follows.

CUET 2026 Exam Pattern
The CUET UG 2026 exam pattern is fully Computer-Based Test (CBT) format. The pattern remains the same as 2025 with three sections, 50 compulsory MCQs per subject, and a fixed marking scheme. Candidates can select up to 5 subjects from a total of 37 options (13 languages + 23 domain subjects + 1 General Test).

CUET 2026 offers 37 subjects in total. Candidates may choose any subject regardless of their Class 12 stream. The complete list is broken down below.

- 1 General Test (Section III): Used for programmes that do not have a specific domain subject requirement (BBA, BMS, many liberal arts programmes, etc.) and for candidates who picked a subject discontinued at the school level.
CUET Admit Card – Download Hall Ticket
- Status: The CUET 2026 Admit Card has been released by NTA on May 5, 2026.
- Download Link: Visit cuet.nta.nic.in and log in with your Application Number and Password (or Date of Birth / Security Pin).
- What to Verify: Name, photograph, signature, exam date, shift, reporting time, and exam centre address on the CUET hall ticket.

CUET Answer Key, Response Sheet and Result
After the CUET 2026 exam concludes on May 31, 2026, NTA will sequentially release the response sheet, provisional answer key, final answer key, and result.
- CUET 2026 Response Sheet – Released along with the provisional answer key. Shows the answers you marked against each question.
- CUET Provisional Answer Key – Expected in the third week of June 2026 at cuet.nta.nic.in. Candidates can raise objections with a fee per challenge.
- CUET Final Answer Key – Released after the objection review.
- CUET 2026 Result – Expected in the fourth week of July 2026. The scorecard shows subject-wise raw marks and percentile scores; it is also available on DigiLocker.
- Counselling: Each participating university announces its own counselling / merit list dates after the result. Central Universities like DU use the CSAS portal; other universities have their own admission portals.

CUET Preparation Strategy and Study Tips
- Study from the official NTA CUET 2026 Syllabus – the domain papers are based on NCERT Class 12 content.
- Practise with CUET previous year question papers from 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 to understand question patterns.
- Solve subject-wise CUET sample papers and take CUET mock tests to build speed and accuracy.
- Time management is critical – you have 60 minutes per subject for 50 questions, so attempt 1 question per minute on average.
- Don’t ignore the negative marking (-1) – avoid blind guessing on questions you don’t know.
- For Language papers, focus on reading comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar; for General Test, stay updated with current affairs and basic quantitative aptitude.
