How does GMCH counselling work?
Counselling is held in person in Chandigarh, and seats are given strictly in order of NEET UG rank.
- Report by 9:30 AM at the venue for attendance and document checks. No separate call letter is issued, and no TA/DA is paid.
- Your personal presence is mandatory. If you arrive after your turn, you are offered only the seats left at that time.
- MBBS seats are filled in this order: PwBD, General, OBC (NCL), then SC. Unfilled reserved seats go to General candidates.
- Once admitted to a course, you cannot take part in a later counselling for the same course.
- If you missed the first counselling, you can still attend the second or a later one and are offered the seats then vacant.
- Selected candidates pass a medical examination and pay the fee the same day. Original certificates are kept by the college.
Second counselling and a mop-up round are held only if seats stay vacant, on dates GMCH notifies on its website.
