Biology is not part of the engineering diploma paper, even though many guides list it.
What is the syllabus for the IERT management diploma and PDCA papers?
- Management diploma: one objective paper on English and Hindi, comprehension, general knowledge, simple arithmetic, algebra, and general awareness of geography, economics, history and commerce up to Intermediate level.
- Post Diploma in Computer Application: one objective paper on general English, general knowledge, numerical ability, reasoning, and general awareness in physics and maths.
Both courses also have an interview of 100 marks after the written test.

You must attempt all questions, according to the brochure, but each wrong answer still costs one mark. The brochure does not give a subject-wise split of the 75 questions. The sample questions in it are of Class 10 standard with some numericals.
How to Prepare for the IERT Entrance Exam 2027
- Start with your Class 9 and Class 10 Mathematics and Science textbooks (NCERT or UP Board), since the paper is set at High School level.
- Cover the extra topics the brochure lists that go beyond Class 10, such as logarithms, sets and mappings, trigonometric formulae, coordinate geometry and gas laws.
- Practise numericals in physics and chemistry: lens formula, Ohm’s law, specific heat and gas equation.
- Take timed practice papers of 75 questions in 3 hours, and skip guesses you are unsure of, because of the minus one mark.

Is there Biology in the IERT engineering diploma paper?
No. The brochure syllabus for the engineering diploma has only Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
Is the IERT syllabus the same as JEECUP?
They overlap at Class 10 level, but IERT sets its own list. It includes topics such as logarithms, sets, mappings and coordinate geometry that go beyond the usual Class 10 book.
Will the syllabus change for 2027?
IERT has not released the 2027 brochure yet. The topics here are from the 2026 brochure, which is the latest; check the new brochure when it comes out.
How many questions should I attempt?
