The JEE Advanced AAT 2027 syllabus has five areas: freehand drawing, geometrical drawing, three-dimensional perception, imagination and aesthetic sensitivity, and architectural awareness. It is printed in the JEE (Advanced) brochure. The 2027 brochure is not out yet, and the AAT syllabus has stayed the same in recent years.

What is in the JEE Advanced AAT 2027 syllabus?
The official AAT syllabus has five sections, and each one is a separate section of the question paper. The table gives the official wording in short.

How are marks split across the AAT 2027 sections?
Each of the five sections carries 60 marks, for 300 marks in a 3-hour paper. This split is printed on the official AAT papers of 2021 to 2025; the brochure itself does not give a mark scheme.

The paper is only in English and all questions are compulsory. AAT is pass or fail, so the aim is to clear the cut-off fixed by the Joint Implementation Committee, not to get a rank.

The AAT syllabus is in Annexure-I of the JEE (Advanced) information brochure on jeeadv.ac.in. The 2026 brochure is the latest; the 2027 one will appear when JAB announces the exam. You can also open the AAT syllabus page from the 2026 brochure as a one-page PDF.
How should I prepare for the AAT 2027 syllabus?
- Sketch everyday objects, furniture and people from memory daily, checking proportion, texture and scale
- Practise plans, elevations and isometric views of simple solids with instruments for geometrical drawing
- Draw objects from different angles and in section to build three-dimensional perception
- Do short composition and colour exercises with given shapes for the imagination section
- Read about well-known buildings, places and architects in India and abroad for architectural awareness
- Solve the AAT previous year question papers in 3 hours, with your own drawing and colouring aids
