Answer Key and Result

After the exam, WBJEEB will release the model answer key on wbjeeb.nic.in. Candidates can then match their responses and challenge any incorrect answer by paying Rs. 500 per question. Furthermore, the result and rank card will be published on a date to be notified later. The merit rank, known as GMR (General Merit Rank), will be the sole basis for counselling and seat allotment.

For latest updates, see the answer key page and the result page.

Tie-Breaking Methodology

If two or more candidates obtain the same total marks, the Board applies the following tie-breaking rules in sequence to assign distinct ranks.

  1. Candidate with fewer incorrect responses gets the higher rank.
  2. If the tie still exists, the older candidate by date of birth (DOB) gets preference.
  3. Finally, if the tie persists, the candidate with the earlier application number gets the higher rank.

Counselling Process

After result declaration, qualified candidates need to participate in the centralised online counselling conducted by WBJEEB for seat allotment. Consequently, the counselling process involves registration, choice filling, seat allotment, reporting, and upgradation rounds. Furthermore, allotment is based purely on GMR, choice, category, and seat availability. For MPhil (PSW & CP), an additional personal interview is conducted by WBUHS – the total score is calculated with 15% weightage to interview and 85% to written exam.
