Jharkhand DECE LE 2027 is the Diploma Entrance Competitive Examination (Lateral Entry) that JCECEB, Ranchi, holds for direct admission to the second year of engineering diploma courses in Jharkhand polytechnics. Jharkhand DECE LE 2027 Important Dates
JCECEB has not announced DECE (LE) 2027 dates yet. In 2026 the notice came on 16 May and the exam was held on 28 June, so the 2027 exam is expected in June 2027. Earlier cycles started sooner: in 2023 applications opened on 25 February.

How to Apply for Jharkhand DECE LE 2027
You apply online only, on the JCECEB website, once the 2027 notice is out. The form link sits under “Click Here for All Online Application Submission” on the homepage. You do not post a printout to JCECEB.
Apply Online for Jharkhand DECE LE 2027
Applications for Jharkhand DECE LE 2027 are expected in May 2027.
- Open jceceb.jharkhand.gov.in and click “Click Here for All Online Application Submission”.
- Choose the Diploma Entrance Competitive Examination (Lateral Entry) 2027 link and register with your mobile number and email.
- Log in and fill in your personal, category and educational details, including your qualifying exam marks.
- Upload a recent colour photo on a white background (both ears visible, not edited), your signature, left thumb impression and qualifying marksheet.
- Pay the application fee online by card, net banking or UPI.
- Print the confirmation page and keep three or four copies.

The fee is not refundable. In 2026 JCECEB gave a two-day online correction window (13 to 14 June 2026) right after the form closed, and no changes were allowed after it.
Who can apply for Jharkhand DECE LE 2027?
You can apply if you are an Indian citizen who is a permanent or local resident of Jharkhand and you meet one of the two academic routes below. These rules follow table 8.4 of the AICTE Approval Process Handbook 2024-2027.
- 10+2 passed with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, Biology, Informatics Practices, Biotechnology, a technical vocational subject, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies or Entrepreneurship, or
- Class 10 passed plus a 2-year ITI certificate. ITI courses shorter than two years do not qualify.
- Students still appearing in the qualifying exam can apply, but must pass before the counselling date.
- No age limit, except Mining Engineering, which needs a minimum age of 17 years.
- You must be medically fit; a doctor’s fitness certificate is needed at admission.
To claim a reserved seat you need a Jharkhand caste, EWS or disability certificate in the prescribed format. BC-I and BC-II candidates need a non-creamy-layer certificate.
Which colleges and how many seats does DECE LE 2027 cover?
DECE (LE) fills lateral entry seats in engineering diploma courses at these institutes:
- Government, non-government and PPP-mode polytechnics in Jharkhand
- Jharkhand Government Mini Tool Room and Training Centre, Ranchi
- Government Tool Room and Training Centre, Dumka
- Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET), Hehal, Ranchi
Lateral entry admissions are made on 10% of each institute’s sanctioned seats. On top of that, 5% extra tuition fee waiver (TFW) seats go to students whose family income is below Rs 8 lakh a year. JCECEB posts the branch-wise seat matrix in the Download section before counselling.
What is the Jharkhand DECE LE 2027 exam pattern?
DECE (LE) is a 2-hour pen-and-paper OMR test of 100 multiple-choice questions at Class 10 level, held in one sitting at centres in Ranchi. Questions are printed in both Hindi and English.
