How does JMI prepare the merit and selection lists?
JMI ranks candidates programme-wise on their entrance test score, applying its reservation rules.
- Where there is an interview, JMI calls four to five times the seats in each category, and the interview list is in roll-number order.
- If two candidates tie, the older candidate ranks higher; in interview programmes the higher written score comes first.
- JMI may publish more lists from the waiting list, and may hold spot registration for listed and waitlisted candidates.
- For CUET, JEE Main, NATA, NEET and NCET programmes, the rank comes from that test.
| JMI reservation | Share of seats |
|---|---|
| Muslim candidates | 30% |
| Muslim women | 10% |
| Muslim OBC (non-creamy layer) and ST | 10% |
| Persons with disabilities | 5% |
| Internal Jamia school students (UG, diploma, certificate) | 5% |

If you are selected, you complete admission at the faculty or department named in the list, by the date given in it.
- Bring the entrance admit card, originals and attested copies of your mark sheets, age proof, category certificate, character and migration certificates and a blood group certificate.
- Bring the national test scorecard if your programme uses one, such as JEE Main for B.Tech or NCET for ITEP.
