JMI Entrance Exam 2027 is the set of programme-wise admission tests that Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, holds for its 2027-28 UG, PG and diploma programmes. Most programmes use JMI’s own test, while 25 used CUET in 2026-27. Forms are expected in February 2027 and tests from April 2027.

JMI has not announced any 2027 date yet, so the dates below are expected months based on 2026, when the prospectus came on 20 February 2026 and the tests ran from 26 April to 5 June 2026.

How to Apply for JMI Entrance Exam 2027
You apply online only, on the JMI admission portal, once the 2027-28 prospectus is out. In 2026 forms for JMI-test programmes were open from 20 February to 25 March 2026, and there is no printed form.
Apply Online for JMI Entrance Exam 2027
Applications for JMI Entrance Exam 2027 are expected in February 2027.
- Read the prospectus and check the eligibility of each programme you want.
- Register on the admission portal with a valid email ID. JMI emails a login ID, password and a link to verify your email.
- Log in, choose your programme(s) and category, and pick a test city for programmes held in many cities.
- Upload only your photograph and signature (JPG, up to 100 KB each). Other documents are checked at admission.
- Pay the application fee online by card or net banking for each programme and keep a printout of the form.

Aadhaar is mandatory for applying because JMI uses Aadhaar-based biometric checks at its tests. You can fix mistakes only in the editing window (1 to 6 April 2026 last year), and name and date of birth cannot be changed after registration.
Which JMI programmes admit through CUET, and which through JMI’s own test?
Most JMI programmes still admit through JMI’s own entrance test; only the programmes below used a national test in 2026-27, and the 2027-28 prospectus may change this list.

For a CUET programme you take the paper JMI names (for example the General Aptitude Test for the language diplomas, or the Hindi or Urdu paper for those honours degrees), then apply on the JMI portal; JMI ranks you on your CUET normalised score. Who can apply for JMI Entrance Exam 2027?
Eligibility is set separately for every programme in the prospectus; these 2026-27 rules for popular programmes are expected to continue.

Students awaiting their qualifying result can apply. For PG programmes, JMI required the final degree result by 31 October 2026 last year, or the admission was cancelled. PwD candidates get a 5% relaxation in qualifying marks.
What is the JMI Entrance Exam 2027 pattern?
Each programme has its own paper, set on the programme’s syllabus, and most are offline OMR tests with objective questions. JMI syllabus PDFs give the exact sections and marks.
- Negative marking: 0.25 mark is cut for each wrong MCQ answer in every programme except PhD.
- Some papers have a descriptive part; candidates scoring under 30% in it are not shortlisted.
- Some programmes add a group discussion, interview or other component, and missing any component ends your claim.
- Popular programmes are held in many cities; the rest are held in New Delhi, mainly at the JMI campus.
- There is no rechecking or re-evaluation of entrance answer scripts.

In 2026 the tests were held in 16 cities: Delhi, Lucknow, Patna, Srinagar, Jammu, Jaipur, Guwahati, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bhopal, Kishanganj, Dehradun, Calicut, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Ranchi. Delhi is the default second choice of test city.
