Jawaharlal Nehru University conduct the JNUEE for taking admission into the university. The Jawaharlal Nehru University constituted under the Jawaharlal Nehru University Act 1966, (53 of 1966) came into existence in 1969. The University follows semester system. Each course is for the duration of one semester and it is assigned a specific number of credits. The number of credits to be assigned to a course are determined by Board of Study/Special Committee of the School/ Special Centre on the recommendation of the Centre concerned. Evaluation is done by the concerned course teacher with the exception of M. Phil dissertation and Ph. D. thesis. University follows a continuous evaluation system. Merit List Preparation
The university prepare merit list separately according to the courses for the selected candidates. There are two merit lists:- one for the candidate who appear for the viva-voice and one for those courses for which the viva voice is not prescribed.
The following percentage of seats is reserved for the reserved categories:
- SC – 15%
- ST – 7.5%
- PWD (Person with Disability) – 3%
- OBC candidates (non creamy layer) – 27% seats.
