The Graduate Aptitude Test- Biotechnology (GAT-B)/ Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET) is a National Level Entrance Examination for admission to Department of Biotechnology supported Post Graduate Programme in Biotechnology and allied areas in participating Institutions (GAT-B) and for award of DBT – Junior Research Fellowship (DBT-JRF) for pursuing research in frontier areas of Biotechnology (BET). GAT-B/BET 2022
The GAT-B 2022 and BET 2022 examinations will be conducted on April 23, 2022. The duration of each exam will be 3 hours. The GAT-B examination will be conducted in the morning from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. The BET 2022 examination will be conducted in the afternoon from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The examinations will be conducted in English, in a Computer-Based mode. Candidates can check the important dates and events related to GAT-B 2022 and BET 2022 examination in the table given below.

GAT-B/BET 2022 Answer Key
After successfully conducting the GAT-B 2022 and BET 2022 examination NTA has released the Answer Key for the appeared candidates. The NTA is displayed the Recorded Responses and Question Paper attempted by the candidates towards both the examinations on the NTA website dbt.nta.ac.in prior to declaration of result. The recorded responses is displayed for three days. The NTA has released the Provisional Answer Key of the questions towards both the examinations on the NTA website dbt.nta.ac.in. Candidate cab challenge the Provisional Answer Keys with online payment of Rs. 200/- per question challenged as processing charges.

GAT-B/BET 2022 Application Form
The Application Form for GAT-B/BET 2022 examination has been released online on NTA websites: dbt.nta.ac.in or http://www.nta.ac.in. Candidates can apply for GAT-B/BET or both -2022 through “Online” mode only. The Application Form in any other mode will not be accepted. Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate. Multiple Application Forms submitted by a candidate will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Instructions for filling Online Application Form
- Step-1: Register for Online Registration using your own Email ID and Mobile No.
- Step-2: Complete the Online Application Form and note down the system generated Application Number.
- Step-3: Upload legible scanned images
- Step-4: Pay prescribed fee through Net Banking / Debit Card / Credit Card / UPI / Wallet and keep proof of fee paid for future reference.
GAT-B/BET 2022 Eligbility Criteria
Graduate Aptitude Test-Biotechnology (GAT-B) 2022
- Only bonafide Indian nationals are eligible to apply for GAT-B 2022.
- Candidate who has either appeared or is due to appear in the final examination of their qualifying degree is eligible to apply for GAT-B 2022, under the result awaited (RA) category.
Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET) 2022
- Nationality: Candidate should be a bonafide citizen and resident of India.
- Academic Qualification: Bachelors (B.E./ B.Tech.) and Masters (M.Sc./ M.Tech./ M.VSc./Integrated M.Sc./ M.Tech.) in any discipline of Biotechnology, Life Sciences or any other allied areas of Biology.
- Candidates admitted in any of the M.Sc./ M.Tech./ M.VSc./ M.Sc.(Agri) programmes supported under the DBT Post Graduate Teaching Programme shall be eligible to apply. Candidates who are yet to appear in the final semester examination or awaiting result of final semester shall also be eligible to apply.
- Marks: Minimum 60% of marks for General, EWS & OBC category and 55% of marks for SC/ ST/ Differently Abled candidates in aggregate (or equivalent grade).
- Age Limit: Upto 28 years of age as on the last date of application for General & EWS category. Age relaxation of up to 5 years (33 years) for SC/ ST/ Differently Abled/ Women candidates and upto 3 years (31 years) for OBC (NonCreamy Layer) candidates.

- Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
- Marks added for each correct answer: For Section A, 1 mark will be added and for Section B, 3 marks will be added. There will be negative marking and for each wrong answer, half (1/2 or 0.5) mark will be deducted for Section A and One (1) mark will be deducted for Section B
- Medium of the examination: English

- Mode of examination: CBT (Computer Based Test)
- Duration of the examination: 3 hours

Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET) 2022
Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET) is the national qualifying examination for award of doctoral research fellowships under the DBT-Junior Research Fellowship (DBT-JRF) Programme. BET is an All-India computer-based examination which is held once every year. These fellowships are tenable at any recognized university/institution in India where the selected fellow registers for Ph.D. programme.
