CCMN 2027 is the Centralized Counselling for M.Sc. and M.Sc.(Tech.) admission to NITs, IIEST Shibpur, IIITs and other centrally funded institutes. It has no exam of its own: seats are allotted on IIT JAM 2027 ranks. A host NIT runs it online, and registration is expected in May 2027, after the JAM result on 18 March 2027.

CCMN 2027 Important Dates
CCMN 2027 dates are not announced yet. In 2026 registration opened on 15 May, so CCMN 2027 is expected to start in May 2027, after the JAM 2027 result.

Is CCMN an exam? How is it linked to IIT JAM?
No. CCMN is only a counselling process. You must first take IIT JAM 2027, held on 14 February 2027, and get a valid score. CCMN then allots M.Sc. seats at NITs and other institutes on that score, while the IITs admit JAM candidates through their own JOAPS admission process.

How to Apply for CCMN 2027 (registration and Choice Filling)
You register, pay the fee and fill choices online in one window, which ran from 15 May to 5 June 2026 last year. The steps below follow the CCMN 2026 information brochure.
Apply Online for CCMN 2027
Applications for CCMN 2027 are expected in May 2027.
- Wait for your IIT JAM 2027 result and keep your JAM registration ID and password ready.
- Open the CCMN official website when registration starts and sign in on the candidate portal with your JAM registration ID, password and the security pin shown.
- Fill in your qualifying degree, marks or CGPA, category, personal details and bank details exactly as in your certificates.
- Pay the non-refundable registration fee online by UPI, debit card, credit card or net banking.
- Add the programmes you are willing to join, in order of preference, from the list of programmes you are eligible for. Check each programme’s special eligibility before adding it.
- Lock your choices before the deadline and print the registration form with locked choices. You must sign it and submit it when you report to the institute.

The SAF, PAF and participation fees are adjusted against the allotted institute’s admission fee. If you withdraw or lose a seat, CCMN refunds the SAF and PAF after deducting a processing fee of Rs 2,000, subject to the refund rules in the brochure.
Who can take part in CCMN 2027?
You can take part if you have a valid IIT JAM 2027 score and meet the minimum marks in your bachelor’s degree. The 2026 rules were:
- A valid JAM score of the same year (JAM 2027 for CCMN 2027).
- At least 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale or 60% in the qualifying degree for GEN, GEN-EWS and OBC candidates.
- At least 6.0 CGPA or 55% for SC, ST and PwD candidates.
- Only the primary mode on your marksheet counts. If it shows both CGPA and percentage, CGPA is used, and a university’s own conversion is not accepted.
- Final-year students can join provisionally if they meet the marks requirement by the deadline (30 September in 2026).
- Each programme accepts only certain JAM papers and degree disciplines, listed in the seat and eligibility matrix on the CCMN website. Some programmes also have special eligibility conditions.
CCMN fills full-time seats only. It does not cover sponsored or part-time seats.
Which institutes take part in CCMN?
The official 2026 closing score report lists M.Sc. and M.Sc.(Tech.) programmes at 38 institutes. The 2027 list will be on the CCMN website before registration.

How does CCMN seat allotment work?
CCMN ranks candidates by a common percentile worked out from the JAM All India Rank. Seats are then allotted by merit, your locked choices, your category and the seats left.
- Ties on common percentile go to the higher JAM score, then to the older candidate, then by a random number.
- Reserved-category candidates are first considered for OPEN seats, then for their category seats.
- After each regular round you choose Freeze, Float or Slide, pay the Seat Acceptance Fee and upload documents for online verification.
- Seats left after three regular rounds go to two special rounds and then a National Spot Round, each needing fresh registration.

What documents do you need for CCMN 2027?
You upload colour scans of these originals for online document verification after a seat is allotted (2026 list):
- Proof of date of birth: Class 10 marksheet or certificate
- Photo ID proof
- Class 12 marksheet or equivalence certificate
- Marksheets of all semesters of the qualifying degree
- Degree or provisional certificate, or a course completion certificate if the result is awaited
- JAM scorecard of the same year
- Category certificate (SC, ST, OBC-NCL or EWS) in the Government of India format, if applicable; OBC-NCL and EWS certificates must be recent (issued on or after 1 April in 2026)
- OBC-NCL declaration and PwD certificate, if applicable
