CCMN Allotment 2020 to M.Sc Programme in National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) is through a process of Centralized Counselling. The seat allotment is made as per the choices of the students upon their JAM 2020 score. Once the candidate is allotted the seat, a candidate can perform two actions. He/She can either accept and freeze the seat / accept with upgrade or else candidate can pay the counselling fee to confirm their allotment and continue for further process. CCMN Allotment 2020
A candidate who does not perform any “Action” after the seat allotment will be removed from the counselling and cannot participate in further round(s). Check the CCMN 2020 Allotment schedule from the table given below.

All registered candidates who have completed the choice filling and registration are allotted seats in the institutes. The allotments are done as per the choice of the candidates and the availability of seats in the institutes.
- Group – 1: The candidate who will register (JAM 2020 qualified) and not allotted seats in the 1st Round of seat allotment.
- Group – 2: Candidates who got allotted seat in the 1st Round of allotment and had completed online reporting with option “Accept with Upgrade”.
The choices submitted by the above candidates will be processed as such with no change and the seat allotment will be made as per their choices upon the merit of JAM score, and the allotment result will be available under “Candidate Query Corner” in CCMN website.

CCMN Allotment 2020 for Round 1
Once the CCMN allotment 2020 is done, a candidate can perform 02 actions to participate in the counselling.
Action 1: A candidate should opt for either “Accept and Freeze” or “Accept with Upgrade” option to continue in the counselling.
- “Accept and Freeze” option – If a candidate is allotted with say „Choice No. 3‟ and wish to retain the same, “Accept and Freeze” option is given and the candidate’s “Choice No. 3‟ is locked as FINAL.
- The candidate will be generated with PAL after Final Round of allotment.
- The candidate cannot change this “Accept and Freeze” option, once executed.
- “Accept with Upgrade” option – If a candidate is allotted with say „Choice No. 3‟ and wish to upgrade to the highest possible choice, “Accept with Upgrade” option is given by the candidate and is kept in the loop for further round of allotment/upgradation (if any).
- A candidate may get upgraded to „any one of the eligible higher choice‟ or may be retained with the same „Choice No. 3‟ at the end of 2nd Round and Final Round, depending on the vacancy and merit.
- The candidate will be generated with PAL after Final Round of allotment.
Action 2: Candidate should pay the Counselling Participation Fee (CPF) to confirm their CCMN allotment 2020 and continue for further process.
Points to Remember:
- A candidate who does not perform any one of these “Actions” will be removed from the counselling and cannot participate in the further round.
- A candidate can choose to voluntarily exit CCMN 2020 without performing any of the above actions and such candidates will be removed from the counselling procedure for all future round.
- If a candidate has performed both the “Actions” and confirmed participating in further round of counselling, now at a later stage decides to exit CCMN 2020 should wait till Surrender dates .
The seats thus falling vacant (hereinafter called ‘Vacant Seats’) will be considered for allotment/upgradation in the subsequent round of CCMN allotment 2020.
Surrender of CCMN Allotment 2020
Surrendering of CCMN allotment 2020 is a candidate’s choice and will be honoured by CCMN 2020. A proper and timely surrender of allotment will create an additional vacancy for another deserving candidate.
If a candidate wishes to surrender the allotment, the candidate should do it online and need not report to any PI.
- Candidates who will pay CPF during either 1st or 2nd Round and exercised either “Freeze” or “Float” option will be eligible to surrender the allotment.
- A surrender of allotment is successful only when it is done ONLINE using an OTP within the stipulated dates and the same is reflected at CCMN portal. Such candidates are eligible for the refund of the paid CPF after deduction of prescribed amount as processing charges.
- Queries or requests for the surrender of allotment (through any other mode eg. email/letter/telephone) beyond the stipulated dates will not be entertained. Such requests are rejected and not eligible for a refund of the paid CPF.
- The CPF of candidates (allotted but not surrendered) will be transferred to the final “Allotted Institute” that comes after the Final Round of allotment.
- Candidates who have not performed any of the necessary actions mentioned in the previous rounds (Choosing “Freeze”/”Float” and/or Payment of CPF) are not eligible to surrender. Those candidates are automatically given exit from CCMN.
CCMN Allotment 2020 for Round 3
In an attempt to fill the seats that may still remain vacant after the 1st & 2nd Rounds of CCMN allotment 2020, a Final Round (FR) of allotment will be conducted. The following groups of candidates are eligible for seat allotment against vacant seats in this Final Round:
- Group – 1: Registered candidates (JAM 2020 qualified) who are not allotted seats in the 1st & 2nd Rounds of seat allotment.
- Group – 2: Candidates who got allotted seat in the 1st Round of allotment and had completed online reporting with option “Accept with Upgrade” and had not opted “Accept and Freeze” option in 2nd round (AND) Candidates who got allotted seat in the 2nd Round of allotment and had completed online reporting with option “Accept with Upgrade”.
Candidates who got allotted seat in the 1st and 2nd Round of CCMN allotment 2020 and had completed online reporting with option “Accept and Freeze” option either in 1st or 2nd round should pay Counselling Confirmation Fee(CCF) to generate PAL.
The choices submitted by the above candidates will be processed as such with no change and the seat allotment will be made as per their choices upon the merit of JAM score, and the allotment result will be available under “Candidate Query Corner” in CCMN website.
CCMN Allotment 2020 for National Spot Round (NSR)
After the end of the third round of CCMN allotment 2020, NSR will be conducted to fill remaining vacant seats, if any. The candidates who have registered earlier in CCMN 2020, but seat not allotted, the seat allotted but not accepted, surrendered and candidates who have not registered earlier in CCMN are eligible for this round of allotment and may participate in this round by paying requisite fees during the specified period and executing necessary steps of counselling.
Group – 1: Candidates who have registered earlier in CCMN 2020, but seat not allotted.
Group – 2: Candidates who got allotted seat in previous round (1st ,2nd & 3rd) allotment and had not paid CCF or surrendered seat. JAM 2020 qualified candiadates who have not registered earlier in CCMN 2020 are also eligible for NSR.
Candidates belonging to Group 1: Fresh registration required but no registration fee need to pay for participation in NSR. However, the candidates need to register online with filling up of choices. The candidates need to pay CPF and CCF before the allotment of seats in NSR.
Candidates belonging to Group 2: Fresh registration required for participation in NSR. However, the candidates need to register online with filling up of choices. The candidates need to pay Registration fee (Nonrefundable), CPF and CCF before the allotment of seats in NSR.
Candidates belonging to Group 1 & 2: After the CCMN allotment 2020 for NSR round is complete, all allotted candidates should generate Provisional Admission Letter (PAL) within the stipulated dates mentioned under “Key Dates” column in the website or mentioned in the later part of this brochure. After the NSR allotment is complete, the candidates who have not allotted any seat in NSR will be refunded CPF and CCF in Full.
Documents to be submitted during admission at the allotted institute
The following documents have to be submitted by the candidate at the time of admission who got seat in CCMN allotment 2020.
- Provisional Admission Letter downloaded from the CCMN 2020 website.
- Printout of the Registration form with locked choices.
- Valid qualified JAM 2020 Score Card.
- Certificate showing Date of Birth
- 12th Class Mark Sheet/Any other certificate showing the availability of Mathematics subject at Class 12 level.
- Qualifying Degree Certificate, if the result is published.
- If results not published, course completion certificate/provisional ertifcicate /certificate in the format.
- Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC with NCL) in the standard format as prescribed which is, wherever applicable
- PwD certificate from a valid ‘Medical Board’ or an equivalent as per the standard format which is provided in the later part of this brochure.
- Migration/Transfer/Conduct certificate (or all as per the availability) in original from the last attended Institution/University/College (will be retained by the Admitting Institute).
- Demand Draft/Online Transfer receipt for the “Remaining Fees” to be paid at the Admitting Institute.
- Passport Photographs.
