How many questions come from each subject?
CEE Kerala sets questions from each B.Sc Nursing subject in fixed numbers. This is the split in the 2026 prospectus (clause 9.1.3); expect the same for 2027 unless the new prospectus changes it.

What topics should you study in each subject?
The prospectus lists subjects, not chapters, so study the topics of your B.Sc Nursing course. These are the core areas in each subject.
- Basic sciences: body systems, physiology and biochemistry, microbiology and infection control, nutrition and diet therapy, psychology and sociology.
- Nursing Foundations: nursing process, vital signs, basic procedures, drug administration, asepsis and patient safety.
- Medical Surgical Nursing: cardiac, respiratory, renal, GI, neuro and endocrine disorders, peri-operative care, critical care, oncology, pharmacology and pathology.
- Community Health Nursing: epidemiology, primary health care, national health programmes, communicable and non-communicable disease control.
- Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nursing: antenatal, intranatal and postnatal care, high-risk pregnancy, gynaecological disorders, family planning.
- Child Health Nursing: growth and development, newborn care, immunisation, common childhood illnesses, IMNCI.
- Psychiatric Nursing: mental disorders, therapeutic communication, psychopharmacology, mental health law.
- Nursing Education and Administration: teaching methods, evaluation, curriculum, management and leadership.
- Research and Statistics: research process, designs, sampling, data collection and basic statistics.
What is the Kerala PG Nursing 2027 exam pattern?
The exam is one computer-based paper of 200 multiple choice questions in 2 hours. Each correct answer gets 3 marks and each wrong answer loses 1 mark, so the paper is out of 600.
- Unanswered questions get 0, so skip a question you cannot narrow down.
- Ties are broken first by more correct answers, then by age (the older candidate ranks higher).
- In 2026 the test was held at centres in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Kozhikode.

How should you prepare for Kerala PG Nursing 2027?
- Start with Medical Surgical Nursing and Nursing Foundations: together they make up 74 of the 200 questions.
- Revise Community Health, Child Health, OBG and Psychiatric Nursing next, using your B.Sc Nursing textbooks.
- Do not skip the small subjects: basic sciences add up to 38 questions.
- Practise with timed sets of 200 MCQs in 2 hours and avoid guessing, since every wrong answer costs a mark.
- Solve old papers to learn the question style.
