KUET 2027 (Kashmir University Entrance Test) is the test the University of Kashmir holds through its Directorate of Admissions and Competitive Examinations (DACE) for 1-year and 2-year Masters programmes and the 3-year LL.B. The 2027 dates are not out. Going by 2026, the form should open in June 2027 and tests should start in July 2027.

KUET 2027 Important Dates
The University of Kashmir has not released the KUET 2027 schedule, so the 2027 dates below are expected from the 2026 cycle, when the tests ran from 21 July to 7 August 2026.

How to Apply for KUET 2027
You apply for KUET 2027 online on kashmiruniversity.net (also uok.edu.in) under the Admissions tab, once DACE issues the admission notification for Masters and LL.B. programmes. In 2026 the form was open from 2 June to 9 July 2026, after one extension.
Apply Online for KUET 2027
Applications for KUET 2027 are expected in June 2027.
- Open kashmiruniversity.net or uok.edu.in, click Admissions and then Active Links.
- Read the instructions and click Register as Student. Create a username and password and keep them safe.
- Log in and enter the registration number of your qualifying (graduation) exam. Fill or check your personal and academic details.
- If you studied under NEP-2020, select TYUP for a 3-year degree or FYUP for a 4-year degree, then pick the subject in which you earned the required credits.
- Choose the Masters or LL.B. programme. Where a programme runs at more than one campus or college, list them in order of preference.
- Upload your photo, signature, marks cards and reserved category certificate (if any).
- Pay the fee online and print the form. After 3 days, check that the status shows Fee Received.
The fee below is from the 2026 prospectus. You can add several programmes to one form. The fee is not refundable.

Which programmes are filled through KUET 2027?
KUET fills the University of Kashmir’s 1-year and 2-year Masters seats and the 3-year LL.B. seats at its main campus, satellite campuses and some affiliated colleges. The 2026 notification listed these groups:
- 2-year and 1-year Masters in 39 subjects, including English, Urdu, Kashmiri, Arabic, History, Economics, Political Science, Commerce, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Geography, Psychology, Sociology and Education.
- 2-year Masters only: Archaeology, Bioresources, MCA, Disaster Management, Library and Information Science, LLM, M.Ed., M.P.Ed., Microbiology and Nanotechnology.
- 3-year LL.B.
- MBA, M.Pharm and M.Tech: seats go first to valid CMAT, GPAT and GATE scores. KUET is held for these only if seats remain vacant.
- M.Sc. Biotechnology: admission is on the GAT-B score.
The 4-year UG and 5-year integrated programmes after Class 12 have their own KUET date sheet, held earlier in the year.
Who can apply for KUET 2027?
Graduates in the relevant subject can apply, and final-year students can apply provisionally. These rules are from the 2026 notification and prospectus:
- A 3-year graduate can apply for 2-year Masters programmes. A 4-year graduate (Honours or Research) can apply for 1-year Masters programmes, and also for 2-year ones.
- For a 2-year Masters, you need at least 12 credits in that subject in your degree (or the subject in all 3 years or 6 semesters). Programmes with open eligibility accept any graduate.
- For a 1-year Masters, you need 20 credits in that subject.
- Students whose result is awaited can apply provisionally, but must pass with the required marks by the date DACE fixes (28 July in 2026).
Minimum marks in graduation depend on the programme:

Candidates from outside the Kashmir Division, NRIs and foreign nationals need the open merit percentage.
What is the KUET 2027 exam pattern?
Most KUET papers have 60 multiple-choice questions of one mark each, with an extra 20-question paper for 1-year Masters candidates. This is the pattern in the 2026 prospectus:

If you apply for both the 1-year and 2-year programme in one subject, you sit only the 80-question 1-year paper. Your marks are converted pro rata to a score out of 60 for the 2-year programme. Topics for each subject are on the KUET 2027 syllabus page.
How are KUET 2027 seats filled?
General and self-financed seats are filled in order of KUET score, while NRI and foreign national seats go by marks in the qualifying exam. Half of the seats are open merit. The rest are reserved as follows:
- Scheduled Caste 8%, Scheduled Tribe (ST-1) 10% and ST-2 10%
- Residents of Backward Areas (RBA) 10% and Other Backward Classes (OBC) 8%
- Residents near the Line of Actual Control or International Border (ALC) 4%
- Children of defence personnel, children of paramilitary and police personnel, and sportspersons: 1% each (horizontal)
DACE publishes merit lists and selection notifications on its website, and selected candidates report to the department with original documents. Seats left after two selection lists are filled through online counselling. See the KUET result page for the score and selection steps.
