What is MH CET Law?

The MH CET Law is the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for Law conducted every year by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra (CET Cell Maharashtra) for admission to the 5-year integrated LLB programmes at participating colleges and universities in Maharashtra. The MH CET Law 2026 was held on 8 May 2026 in two shifts for Class 12 students seeking integrated five-year law degrees such as BA LLB, BBA LLB, BSc LLB, and BCom LLB. Admission is offered through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) based on the candidate’s normalised CET score and category.

Application Form

The MH CET Law 2026 application window opened on 9 January 2026 and closed on 15 March 2026 after two extensions. Eligible candidates registered online at cetcell.mahacet.org, filled in personal, academic, and category details, uploaded a recent photograph and signature, selected exam centre preferences, and paid the application fee online. The fee differs by category and is higher for Open category compared to SC, ST, VJ/DT, NT, OBC, SBC, EWS, and other Maharashtra reserved categories. Around 27,000 candidates applied for the 5-year LLB this cycle.

Eligibility Criteria

The CET Cell Maharashtra has prescribed the following eligibility criteria for MH CET Law 2026.

  • Class 12 (or equivalent) passed from a recognised board.
  • Minimum marks: 45% aggregate for Open category, 42% for OBC / SBC / EWS, and 40% for SC / ST and persons with disabilities.
  • Candidates appearing in Class 12 are also eligible, subject to producing the marksheet at the time of admission.
  • No upper age limit prescribed by the Bar Council of India as of the current cycle.

Exam Pattern

MH CET Law 2026 is conducted in computer-based (online) mode. The paper has 150 multiple-choice questions worth 150 marks to be attempted in 2 hours. There is no negative marking. The medium is English.

Admit Card

The CET Cell Maharashtra released the MH CET Law 2026 admit card on 26 April 2026 – about two weeks before the exam date of 8 May 2026. Registered candidates downloaded the hall ticket from cetcell.mahacet.org using their application number and date of birth. The hall ticket carried the roll number, exam centre, reporting time, photograph, signature, and exam day instructions. Answer Key

The CET Cell released the provisional answer key on 24 May 2026 along with the candidate response sheet. The objection window stayed open from 24 to 26 May 2026, with a fee of Rs. 1,000 per objection. After reviewing valid objections through the expert committee, the CET Cell will publish the final answer key in the first week of June 2026, which will then be used to compute the result. Result and Scorecard

The MH CET Law Result 2026 is expected by mid-June 2026 at cetcell.mahacet.org, after the final answer key is published. Candidates can log in with their registered email ID / application ID and password to download the scorecard, which carries the normalised CET percentile score, overall rank, and category-wise rank. Counselling Process (CAP)

Admissions under MH CET Law 2026 are conducted through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) managed by the CET Cell Maharashtra. The CAP schedule for the 5-year LLB is expected to be notified in July 2026 onwards. Qualified candidates must register on the CAP portal, upload original documents for verification, pay the participation fee, and fill in college and course preferences. Seats are allotted across the rounds based on merit rank, category, preference order, and seat availability. Allotted candidates must accept the seat by paying the confirmation fee and reporting to the allotted institute within the deadline. Vacant seats after the central rounds are typically filled through institute-level admissions.
