What is the MICAT 2027 exam pattern?

MICAT 2027 is a computer-based test with three sections. MICA has not published the number of questions, marks or duration.

SectionWhat it tests
A: Psychometric TestPersonality traits; MICA says there is no right or wrong answer and no negative marking
B: Descriptive TestWriting: arguments for and against a statement, your own view, and a story from a picture sequence, typed on the computer
C: Aptitude TestThree sub-sections: Divergent and Convergent Thinking; Verbal Ability; Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation
  • Objective questions are answered by selecting an option on screen. Short-answer QA questions carry no negative marking, as per the official sample questions.
  • Each sub-section score of MICAT I and MICAT II is converted into a normalised score.
  • MICA uses section-wise qualifying criteria. If you take both rounds, the better MICAT score is considered.
  • MICA does not include a General Awareness section in the 2027 pattern.

Practise with the official questions on the MICAT 2027 sample paper page.

Where is MICAT 2027 held?

MICAT is held at designated centres in 48 cities. The centre is pre-assigned and printed on your admit card; you cannot choose the centre or the computer.

The cities are Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Ajmer, Aligarh, Allahabad, Bareilly, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Dhanbad, Faridabad, Gandhinagar, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Gwalior, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Meerut, Navi Mumbai, Mumbai, Muzaffarnagar, Nagpur, Noida, Panjim, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Rajkot, Ranchi, Surat, Trivandrum, Udaipur, Vadodara, Varanasi and Visakhapatnam.

How does MICA select candidates after MICAT 2027?

Shortlisting depends on the programme. MICA uses the better of your MICAT I and MICAT II scores in every case.

  • PGDM and PGDM-C: CAT, XAT or GMAT plus MICAT, then a Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI), then the final merit list.
  • PGCM-SM: CAT, XAT or GMAT plus MICAT, then a PI.
  • PGCM-AMC, PGCM-DMMC and Strategic Communication: MICAT, then a PI.
  • If you opt for both PGDM and PGDM-C, the Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation cut off may be higher for PGDM.
  • If you are merit-listed for more than one programme, you can accept only one offer, and the choice cannot be changed later.

Score dates and the scorecard are covered on the MICAT 2027 result page.
