NEET SS Result 2020 – NMC has lowered the minimum qualifying percentile in NEET-SS 2020 to 45th percentile. Candidates must note that there is no change in NEET-SS 2020 rank published earlier. Earlier, NBE has announced NEET Super Specialty Result 2020 at nbe.edu.in. The result is declared in the form of a merit list first and on September 30 onwards, the scorecard uploads under the login of the candidates. The merit list hold details like the roll number, score, along with merit or rank secured by the candidate. Each specialty / subject shall have a separate merit list. The candidates scoring up to the 45th percentile in the merit list qualify the exam. Candidates who qualify as per NEET SS result 2020 are called for counselling, which is conducted by MCC. NEET SS 2020 Cut Offs – Revised
The candidates have to score minimum marks in the exam to qualify. The minimum marks are declared with the result itself. This year, National Medical Commission (NMC) has lowered the minimum qualifying percentile in NEET-SS 2020 to 45th percentile. The candidates who score more or equal to that marks are eligible for counselling and admission. For 2020, the specialty wise cutoff marks is given below:

NEET SS 2020 Merit List
NBE shall declare specialty wise merit list i.e. there is a separate merit list for each Super Specialty course. In the merit list candidates shall get to check the below given details:
- Roll number
- Score out of 400
- Merit or rank
Who shall qualify the exam?: The candidates who shall score 50th percentile and above in the respective merit list shall be declared qualified. Further, these candidates can download their Result-cum-Score Card from the website issued under their login.
How is NEET SS 2020 Merit List Prepared?
The merit list is prepared without any normalisation of scores. It is based on the raw score of the candidates secured in the examination. The total marks in the exam are 400. The candidates scoring more is ranked higher in the merit list. However, in case 2 or more candidates get the same marks then tie-breaking is done as per the criteria below:
- A candidate having a lesser number of negative responses in the overall paper is placed at a higher merit position.
- A candidate obtaining a higher score in Part B of the question paper is placed at a higher merit position.
- A candidate having a lesser number of negative responses in Part B of the question paper is placed at a higher merit position.
- The older candidates are placed at higher merit positions.
How to Check NEET 2020 Result?
The candidates have to check NEET SS 2020 result first as merit list and then the result-cum-scorecard. The steps to check both are given below:
First the candidates have to check their names in the merit list. To do so they can follow the steps below:
- Click on the link of the merit list for the respective specialty.
- The merit list opens in PDF format.
- Now candidates have to look for their name in their score on the list by searching the NEET-SS roll number.
- They can check their NEET SS raw score (out of 400) and merit position.
NEET SS Result-cum-Score Card 2020
NBE also releases result-cum-scorecard of NEET SS for the candidates who score 50th percentile and above. It is released online, through login. The details mentioned on NEET SS Result-cum-Scorecard are as follows:
- The specialty of the candidate
- The score obtained out of 400.
- NEET-SS 2020 Specialty Specific Percentile (percentile of the candidates in a particular Post Graduate specialty in which they took the exam).
- Specialty specific cut-off score (score obtained by the candidate at 50th Percentile in a particular Post Graduate specialty).
To check the NEET SS 2020 scorecard, follow the steps below:
- Click on the direct link on this page when the scorecard is released.
- The login page shall open. Enter the user ID and password.
- Access the scorecard link.
- The scorecard opens on the next page, candidates must download and save the same for counselling and admission.
Validity of the NEET SS Exam
The candidates who appear for the exam and qualify the exam are informed that the validity of the result of NEET-SS 2020 will be valid only for that particular year of admission. The candidate who is taking admission into the DM/M.Ch courses in 2020 shall not be able to use the marks obtained in 2020 for admission into the course in the year 2021. It is not valid for the next session the candidate will need to reappear for the exam fulfilling all the eligibility requirements. Kindly note that the registration of admissions for DM/M.Ch courses is governed by Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations issued by Medical Council of India with prior approval of Central Government and the Judgments of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
Admission Via NEET SS 2020
Via NEET SS, admission is granted in:
- All private medical colleges / universities, and deemed universities.
- All DM / M.Ch courses at Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions
- All DNB Super-specialty Courses
However, following institutes are not covered under it:
- AIIMS, New Delhi
- NIMHANS, Bengaluru
- JIPMER, Puducherry
- PGIMER, Chandigarh
- Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram
NEET SS 2020 Counselling
There shall be common counseling for all Superspecialty seats (DM, MCh, and DNB Super-specialty) of NEET- SS 2020 at National-Level to be conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services, Government of India.
The candidates have to retain the mobile number and email ID used for the registration of the NEET SS 2020 application till the completion of counseling process as the same email ID and mobile number shall be used by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) for the purpose of counseling also.

National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination (NEET) is conducted by National Board of Examination (NBE) for admission of candidates in SS DM, MCh, and DNB courses. It is a eligibility-cum-ranking examination and is the only entrance exam for admission in these courses.
