How to Practise for the NIMHANS Entrance Exam Without Past Papers?
- Work at 54 seconds a question. 100 questions in 90 minutes leaves no time to linger. Build mock tests of 100 questions from your own subject and finish them in 90 minutes.
- Treat a wrong answer as a real loss. Each wrong answer costs a quarter mark and a blank costs nothing. In a close merit list, fewer negative marks also break ties, so skip questions you cannot narrow down.
- Aim well above the qualifying mark. You need at least 50% (45% for SC, ST and PwBD) to qualify. Ph.D. candidates above it are shortlisted for interview at 1:6, so a bare pass is rarely enough.
- Plan for 12 and 13 December 2026. About six weeks remain for the January 2027 session. Spend the last two weeks on timed 100-question sets rather than new topics.
