- Open the NIMHANS results page on nimhans.ac.in.
- Find the merit list for your course and session.
- Open the PDF and search for your application number.
- Note your serial number and total score.
- Ph.D. candidates: check whether you are called for the interview and note its date and venue.
- Watch for the provisional selection list, which names the candidates called for admission.
What does the NIMHANS Entrance Exam 2027 merit list show?
The overall merit list ranks candidates for each course by total score, using application numbers instead of names. In 2026 the scores were out of 100 and some were in quarter marks because of negative marking.
The later provisional selection list adds the candidate’s name and the admission date for each selected candidate.
What is the expected NIMHANS Entrance Exam 2027 cut off?
NIMHANS does not publish closing marks, but you must reach these qualifying marks in the entrance test (2026-27, official PG prospectus).

Ph.D. candidates above these marks are shortlisted for the interview in the ratio 1:6, and some PG courses need 50% from every category.
What happens after the NIMHANS Entrance Exam 2027 result?
After the result, Ph.D. candidates face an interview, and all courses move to provisional selection lists and the admission day.
- Ph.D. interview: scheduled for 15 and 16 December 2026; it covers your research interest, subject knowledge and any research work, and carries 30% weight.
- Provisional selection lists: scheduled for 23 December 2026 for Ph.D. and PDF courses.
- Admission and course start: 1 January 2027. Bring all original certificates and pay the fee by card, UPI or net banking.
- If you do not report on the admission day, your seat goes to the next candidate on the waiting list.
