What is NMAT by GMAC?

The NMAT stands for NMAT by GMAC. It is organized by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) — the same body that administers the GMAT. NMAT is a national-level, computer-adaptive MBA entrance exam that allows candidates to choose the order of sections and attempt the test up to three times in a cycle. Scores are accepted by over 50 MBA colleges in India for admission to MBA, PGDM, and other Management Programs. Key accepting institutions include NMIMS Mumbai, TAPMI Manipal, KJ Somaiya Mumbai, SPJIMR Mumbai, XIM University Bhubaneswar, ICFAI Business School, and SDA Bocconi Asia Center.

NMAT 2026 Application Form | NMAT Registration – Apply Online

The NMAT 2026 Application Form will be released by GMAC on mba.com/exams/nmat. Before registering, check the eligibility criteria (see below). Fill in accurate details, upload documents as required, and pay the application fee before the last date. Keep login credentials secure — you will need them for scheduling, admit card download, and result access.

NMAT Eligibility Criteria 2026

The general eligibility for NMAT 2026 as per GMAC guidelines is as follows. Always confirm with the official brochure.

  • Educational Qualification: A bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • Minimum Marks: Generally 50% aggregate (or equivalent CGPA) in graduation. Some colleges (e.g., NMIMS) require 50% specifically.
  • Final-year students: Candidates appearing in final-year examinations may also apply, subject to fulfilling the eligibility conditions before admission.
  • Age limit: No upper age limit is specified by GMAC. Individual colleges may set their own criteria.

NMAT 2026 Exam Pattern

The NMAT exam is computer-adaptive (CAT format) with a fixed structure. Candidates can choose the order of the three sections. There is no negative marking.

GMAC does not publicly release official question papers, but the NMAT by GMAC Official Guide, 11th Edition provides authentic practice questions and two full-length practice tests. The NMAT 2026 Admit Card (hall ticket) will be available in the candidate’s GMAC dashboard at mba.com/exams/nmat after scheduling. Unlike traditional exam admit cards, NMAT’s scheduling confirmation itself serves as exam authorization — candidates must carry a valid photo ID to the test center.

NMAT 2026 Result

After taking the NMAT, candidates receive an immediate unofficial score on screen. The official NMAT 2026 Result with sectional scores is available on the GMAC dashboard at mba.com/exams/nmat. NMAT uses adaptive scaled scoring; the total score ranges from 36 to 360 across three sections. NMIMS Mumbai accepts only the first-attempt score, while most other B-schools accept the highest score.
