An overall merit list which is prepared based on the percentile scored calculating theory marks will be displayed on the website. You will also be required to pass a minimum marks criteria.
Minimum marks to be acquired in the written exam:-
- General- 50th percentile
- SC/ST/OBC/PWD- 45th percentile
Note- next will be an Interview round.
To prepare the merit list for ranking candidates, certain factors are kept in mind. One of it is
- Marks obtained in the written test
- Number of candidates applying,
- Number of seats available,
- Highest marks obtained by the topper,
- Marks obtained by applicants in 12th,
- Minimum eligibility criteria etc.
After that, a merit list will be prepared in which candidates are shortlisted keeping such factors in mind. However, there is a possibility that 1 or more candidates received same marks, in such case, ranking becomes a little bit tricky. Well to maintain the fairness, a formula called Inter-se Merit is used by the institutes. This serves as the tie resolving criteria. Let us see it.
- Candidates making more attempts to pass qualifying examination (10th/12th/ GNM)
- Higher marks in said examination
- Age seniority
Post result declaration, interview/ counseling will be held in order of your rank in the merit list. 3x more people will be called in the counseling than the actual seats. Carry your original documents. Arrange them in order in advance. If selected, you may also have to undergo a medical examination.
This is a table that shows the seat distribution on the basis of last year. As you can see clearly from the table, that maximum number of seats are reserved for General category, while reserved categories have its own reservation policies.
