The Pre Entry Test (PET) is a state-level Education entrance exam organized by SCERT Assam (Assam State Council of Educational Research and Training) for admission to the 2-year D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education) programme at NCTE-recognised TEIs — including DIETs, CTEs, Normal Schools, BITEs, BTCs, and approved private institutes in Assam. The SCERT Assam D.El.Ed PET 2026 application form was available online at scertpet.co.in from 21 May 2026 to 10 June 2026. The application fee was Rs. 600 for all categories. SCERT Assam D.El.Ed PET 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Before applying, candidates must meet the following eligibility conditions set by SCERT Assam:
- Residency: Must be a permanent resident of Assam.
- Educational Qualification: Must have passed Class 12 (10+2 / Higher Secondary) from a recognised Board/Council with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (excluding optional/fourth subject). For SC, ST(P), and ST(H) candidates, the minimum is 45% marks.
- Age: Minimum 18 years and maximum 34 years as on 1 July 2026. For SC/ST(P)/ST(H) candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed by 2 years (i.e., up to 36 years).
SCERT Assam D.El.Ed PET 2026 Exam Pattern and Syllabus
The SCERT Assam D.El.Ed PET consists of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) carrying 100 marks total, to be completed in 2 hours. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. The question paper is divided into two sections:

SCERT Assam D.El.Ed PET 2026 Admit Card
The SCERT Assam D.El.Ed PET admit card 2026 (hall ticket) will be available at scertpet.co.in from 5 July 2026. Candidates must log in with their registration credentials to download it. The hall ticket contains exam date, centre address, reporting time, and instructions. Carrying a printed admit card along with a valid photo ID is mandatory on exam day.
