What is the SMFWBEE 2026 exam pattern and marking scheme?
SMFWBEE is a 3-hour pen-and-paper (OMR) test of 100 questions worth 1 mark each, with no negative marking. Questions are in English and Bengali.

If two candidates have the same total, the one with more marks in Biology ranks higher. After that, the older candidate ranks higher.
How should you prepare for SMFWBEE 2026?
- Start with Biology, since it is worth 50 marks and also breaks ties in the merit list.
- Read your Class 11 and 12 textbooks (WBCHSE or NCERT) chapter by chapter. Questions follow the Higher Secondary level.
- Make short notes of formulae, reactions and labelled diagrams for quick revision.
- Solve past papers on the SMFWBEE question papers page to see the question style.
- Practise full 100-question tests in 3 hours, marking an OMR-style answer sheet. There is no negative marking, so attempt every question.
