UP NEET Counselling 2026 is the Uttar Pradesh state counselling for MBBS and BDS seats, run by DGME UP on upneet.gov.in using NEET UG 2026 ranks. It fills state quota seats in government colleges and all seats in private colleges. Rounds 1 and 2 are over, and Round 3 dates are awaited.

UP NEET Counselling 2026 Important Dates
Rounds 1 and 2 of the 2026 counselling are complete, and Round 3 has not been scheduled yet. Counselling was paused on 19 September 2026 over a reservation case and resumed with Round 2 the same week. The 2027 counselling is expected to start in August 2027, after the NEET UG 2027 result.

Which seats are filled through UP NEET counselling?
DGME UP fills state quota seats in government colleges and every MBBS and BDS seat in private, PPP and minority colleges. These are the totals in the 2026 Round 1 tentative seat matrix.

How to apply for UP NEET Counselling 2026?
You register online on upneet.gov.in, pay the registration fee and security money, get your documents verified and then fill choices for each round. In 2026, Round 1 registration ran from 7 to 14 August, including a two-day extension.
Apply Online for UP NEET Counselling 2026
The UP NEET Counselling 2026 application window (7 to 12 August 2026) has closed.
- Open upneet.gov.in and choose Registration UG while the window is open.
- Register with your NEET UG 2026 roll number and application number, and create a password.
- Fill in your details and upload your documents for online verification.
- Pay the Rs 2,000 registration fee online.
- Pay the security money for the seat type you want: government colleges, private colleges or both.
- Fill and lock your choices of college and course in the choice-filling window, then check the allotment result.
- If you get a seat, download the allotment letter and report to the college with your original documents and fee.

The security money is paid by seat type: government colleges, private colleges or both. Refund status is shown on the portal under Refund Status for NEET UG.
How to log in to the UP NEET UG 2026 counselling portal?
You log in to upneet.gov.in to pay fees, re-upload documents, check verification status, fill choices and download your slips and allotment letter.
- Open the official UP NEET counselling portal.
- Pick the service you need, such as Choice Filling (UG) or Download Slip.
- Select UP NEET UG Counseling 2026 as the course.
- Enter your NEET UG 2026 roll number, your password and the captcha.
- Complete the task on screen and save or print the page or slip.
Forgot your password? Use Forgot Password for Choice Filling (UG) on the portal. You need your UP registration number, NEET roll number and the captcha. Each service opens only during its window; outside it the portal shows the service as closed.
Who can apply for UP NEET Counselling 2026?
You must have qualified NEET UG 2026. Which seats you can choose depends on your domicile.
- NEET UG 2026 qualified, at or above the cut-off percentile for your category.
- Government college seats: you must be a UP domicile, by passing Class 10 and 12 from Uttar Pradesh or holding a UP domicile certificate.
- Private medical and dental colleges and minority colleges are open to candidates from other states as well.
- Reserved-category benefits apply only to UP candidates. Reserved-category candidates from other states compete at the General (UR) cut-off.
- Candidates allotted a seat in the UP NEET UG 2025 stray round who did not join cannot take part.
How are UP government college seats reserved?
State quota seats in government colleges are split by category. These are the 2026 Round 1 numbers from the tentative seat matrix.

Within each category, some seats are kept for sub-categories such as persons with disability, dependants of freedom fighters, ex-army and NCC, with a valid certificate. Private college seats have no category reservation. To see how far each college went, check the UP NEET cut off.
How do the UP NEET counselling rounds work?
Each round has a state merit list, choice filling, an allotment result and an admission window at the college.
- Only candidates who paid both the registration fee and the security money, and whose documents were verified, are eligible for choice filling.
- In 2026, the Round 1 result came on 7 September and admissions ran from 8 to 14 September.
- DGME issued separate notices on resigning a Round 1 seat before Round 2, so read the resignation notice before you take part in the next round.
- The Round 2 result came on 25 September 2026, with admissions from 26 September to 1 October.
- The stray vacancy round needs a fresh registration.
- A compulsory government service bond applies, as set out in chapter 8 of the brochure.
What documents do you need for UP NEET counselling?
Keep these ready for upload and for the admission at the college, where you show the originals with your allotment letter.
- NEET UG 2026 admit card and scorecard
- Class 10 certificate and Class 12 mark sheet
- UP domicile certificate, if you did not pass Class 10 and 12 from Uttar Pradesh
- Category certificate for OBC, SC, ST or EWS, if claimed
- Sub-category certificate for ex-army, NCC, freedom fighter dependant or disability, if claimed
- Registration slip, security money receipt and the allotment letter
