MAKAUT PGET 2027 FAQs

Do GATE or GPAT qualified candidates need to take PGET?
The 2026 brochure says the test is for all candidates except GATE/GPAT qualified candidates, while the portal’s About PGET page says valid GATE/GPAT scores get due weightage in the merit list. Check the 2027 brochure for the exact rule.
Is MAKAUT PGET the same as WBUT PGET?
Yes. West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT) was renamed Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal, so WBUT PGET is now MAKAUT PGET.
Can I apply if my final-year result is pending?
Yes. MAKAUT accepts candidates who have passed or are appearing in the qualifying exam. Final-year candidates get provisional admission and must submit the final mark sheet by the deadline.
Do all MAKAUT in-house M.Tech courses get the GATE scholarship?
No. Only selected in-house courses are eligible, and the portal shows a prompt while you choose a course that is not eligible. For other colleges, check with the institute yourself.
Where can I get help with the MAKAUT PGET application?
The PGET portal’s Helpdesk page lists a technical helpline and email for application problems during office hours. Quote your programme and registration number in the email subject.
