COMEDK UGET 2015 is the common entrance test for medical, dental, and engineering courses in Karnataka. COMEDK UGET will be held on May 10, 2015 in Karnataka. Admission to around 150 engineering colleges, 14 medical, and 25 dental private unaided colleges in Karnataka is done through COMEDK. COMEDK UGET 2015 information such as application form, eligibility, test details is given here. In all, around 20000 seats are available for admission. The exam is open for all students. Karnataka domicile is not necessary to appear in the exam.
About the exam – The COMEDK UGET is conducted for engineering and medical. The Physics and chemistry paper is of two hours duration, and Mathematics paper is of one hour duration. The Biology and English paper is of two hours duration. For each correct answer, 1 mark is awarded. There is no negative marking. COMEDK UGET 2015 application form will have to be submitted by interested and eligible candidates. Forms must reach the organizing body before last date, as specified in the calendar of events / important dates schedule.

Please note – Only Karnataka candidates belonging to SC, ST and OBC are eligible to get the benefit of lower eligible qualifying marks provided the certificates as applicable issued by the competent authorities is furnished in support of the claim at the time of counseling.
Minimum marks to be scored in COMEDK UGET-2015
MBBS/BDS – Candidate has to get 50% marks in English (40% in case of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka). Also it is required to secure a minimum of 50% marks in PCB in the COMEDK UGET (40 % in case of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka) to be eligible for admission to M.B.B.S/BDS.
B.E. – All candidates who have attempted in the entrance test will find a place in the merit list as per their performance, as there are no minimum marks fixed for the entrance test.

There are in all 14 medical, 25 dental and more than 150 unaided, private engineering colleges which are members of COMEDK, across the State of Karnataka and which offer various courses in Medical, Dental or Engineering studies at Under-Graduate level. The courses offered at the Under-Graduate level include MBBS, BDS or B.E programs. Colleges have indicated their willingness to make admission to their Under Graduate courses based on merit in the Common Entrance Test organized by COMEDK (COMEDK UGET-2015).

COMEDK Eligibility Criteria 2015
Candidates from all over the country can appear for the COMEDK UGET Entrance Examination. The COMEDK UGET 2015 Eligibility Criteria for various programs have been as published by COMEDK in its Notification dated 02-12-2014 on its website www.comedk.org which is reproduced as under.
COMEDK UGET 2015 Eligibility Criteria for UG Medical and Dental Courses (MBBS/BDS)
The candidates should have qualified in second PUC or 10+2 or equivalent examination recognized by State / Central Government, the last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject.
The General Merit candidates must have passed these subjects (PCB) individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in PCB (40% in the case of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State). The candidates who are appearing for the prescribed qualifying examination and expecting the percentage of marks as above are also eligible to apply. The General Merit candidates must also secure not less than 50% marks (40% in the case of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka) in aggregate in PCB subjects in the COMEDK UG entrance test 2015.
English is one of the subjects, as in the previous years, to be tested along with Physics, Chemistry and Biology during COMEDK UGET – 2015. The General Merit candidates should secure not less than 50% marks in English (40% in the case of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka) in the entrance test. However, the marks so secured in English will not be added for the determination of rank which shall be decided exclusively based on the marks secured by the candidates in PCB subjects. Further, a candidate is not entitled for a rank if he/she fails to secure 50% or 40% of the marks as the case may be in English. The paper on English language will be normally of second PUC or 10+2 standard and will test the candidate’s comprehension of the language, the structure of words, phrases, clauses and sentences.
The candidate shall complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December (31-12- 2015) of the year of admission to the MBBS / BDS course.
Note: However the candidates shall submit the original marks card of the qualifying examination during counseling for proving their eligibility.
The following Candidates are unacceptable and hence need not to Apply for COMEDK UGET 2015.
- Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination i.e. second PUC or 10+2 or equivalent prior to 2013.
- Candidates having qualified earlier and selected an MBBS seat through COMEDK but failed to join the college so selected or failed to surrender the said seat at the COMEDK level for valid reasons or having joined the college so selected failed to pursue the course.
- Candidates already pursuing Medical UG course anywhere in India.
- Candidates who were caught attempting to impersonate or found following / adopting any of the malpractices earlier including entertaining the touts and agent.
COMEDK UGET Eligibility Criteria for UG Engineering Courses (BE)
The qualifying examinations prescribed for admission for B.E. / B. Arch is second PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination recognized by State / Central Government; the last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with English as a compulsory subject.
The General Merit candidates should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% in respect of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and should have passed these subjects individually. Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Bio Technology or Biology or Computer Science or Electronics as one of the optional subjects. However, changes, if any, in the eligibility criteria by the AICTE / VTU will be adopted
An attempt in the COMEDK Entrance Test seeking admission to Engineering courses is considered adequate for figuring in the rank
Diploma candidates are not eligible to take the Entrance Test as there are no lateral entry admissions.
Note: However the candidates shall submit the original marks card of the examination during counseling for proving their eligibility.
COMEDK UGET Eligibility Criteria for UG Architecture Courses (B. Arch)
The prescribed qualifying examination for admission to B. Arch course is second PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects along with other subjects or a 10+3 Diploma recognized by Central / State Government and having obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% in the case of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka).
The candidates should have appeared for National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture with a minimum score of 80 out of 200 marks for both General Merit and Category students.
There shall be no Entrance Test for candidates seeking admission to B. Arch Course. Candidates seeking B. Arch course shall submit separate application form.
Note: Notwithstanding the eligibility criteria mentioned as above, the changes, if any, effected by MCI, DCI, AICTE / VTU, COA or any other competent Regulatory Authorities shall be adopted mutatis mutandis. COMEDK UGET 2015 Rank Card will be generated only for those candidates who become eligible for admission to Under Graduate Courses as per the regulations of Medical Council / Dental Council of India / AICTE / VTU.

Status of Candidate
Candidates are classified as General Merit and Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe or Other Backward Classes (On Karnataka Basis) or those belonging to Tulu / Telugu / Christian minority communities and those belonging to Hyderabad-Karnataka (HK) Region; there is reservation for admissions to educational institutions for candidates who are ‘local persons’ for HK region as per Karnataka Government Order in No. DPAR 06 PLX 2012 dated 06.11.2013 which is available separately on the website and issued pursuant to Art.371J of the Indian Constitution. Though there is no reservation for any other categories permissible as of date, the classification is being followed for eligibility norms only.
- Declaration once made in the application with regard to the category status like GM / SC / ST / OBC / Minority and H-K Region WILL NOT BE changed subsequently under any circumstances. The candidates are cautioned to fill in the application form with great care about the category status.
- The candidates who have claimed category such as (SC/ST/OBC) of Karnataka should produce a valid certificate at the time of Counseling. If the certificates are not produced or not valid and if the candidates fall under 40% criteria for lower eligibility his / her rank will become invalid and he / she will not be allowed to participate in the counseling process.
- The candidates who have claimed Minority / Hyderabad Karnataka status should produce a valid certificate at the time of first appearance in the Counseling. If the certificates are not produced or not valid then such of these candidates will not be entitled to select a seat under the reservation claimed.
