The COMEDK Cut Off varies year to year depending on the number of candidates, total seats, exam difficulty, branch preferences and category-wise reservation. The COMEDK Cut Off is released separately for every college, branch and category (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS) after each counselling round. The COMEDK Cut Off 2025 was released round-wise on comedk.org. Around 66,000 candidates competed for 20,000 engineering seats across 190 colleges in 2025. The COMEDK 2025 result was declared on 07 June 2025, after which the seat allotment cut offs were released for Round 1 (28 July 2025), Round 2, Round 3 (22 August 2025) and Round 4. - Computer Science & Engineering (CSE): Most competitive branch. RVCE consistently closes at a rank below 500 in the General-AIQ pool across 2023, 2024 and 2025. BMSCE and MSRIT closed between 1,300 and 3,800 in the same period.
- AI & ML / Data Science / Cyber Security: Second most competitive group. RVCE closes within 400 – 700, MSRIT and DSCE within 800 – 3,000, mid-tier colleges within 5,000 – 12,000.
- Electronics & Communication (ECE): Wide spread. Top colleges close in the 800 – 2,500 range, mid-tier 2,500 – 8,000, lower-tier well above 25,000.
- Information Science (ISE): Closes around 2,000 – 4,500 at top colleges and up to 15,000 at mid-tier colleges.
- Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical: Least competitive core branches. Even RVCE Mechanical closed around 29,784 in 2024. Mid and lower-tier colleges admit students with ranks above 50,000.
