How to Download the ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF (PhD) Answer Key 2027
You download the answer key from your candidate login once NTA posts the public notice. In 2026 the provisional key came out on 16 August 2026, six weeks after the exam, so the 2027 key is expected in August 2027.
- Go to exams.nta.nic.in/icar.
- Click the link for challenges regarding the answer key.
- Log in with your application number and password, and enter the captcha.
- Click View Question Paper to see your recorded responses.
- Click the link to view the answer key and match each question ID with the correct option ID.
- Save copies before the window closes.
What is the question paper with recorded responses?
It is the paper you attempted, showing the option recorded against each question. The question IDs in the answer key are not in sequence, so match them with the question paper before you count your score.
How can you challenge the ICAR PhD answer key?
You can challenge any answer online during the window NTA announces, by paying a non-refundable Rs 200 per question. In 2026 the window ran from 16 to 18 August 2026, up to 11:59 PM.
- Log in and open the answer key challenge link.
- Tick the option ID you believe is correct for the question.
- Upload supporting documents as a single PDF, if you have them.
- Click Submit and review claims, then Final Submit.
- Pay Rs 200 per question by debit card, credit card or net banking. Claims are saved only after payment.
Subject experts check every challenge. If a challenge is accepted, the key is revised for all candidates. NTA does not reply to candidates individually, and the final key is used for the ICAR PhD result.
How to Calculate Your ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF (PhD) Score
Your score is 4 times your correct answers minus your wrong answers. For example, 70 correct and 20 wrong gives 280 – 20 = 260 out of 480.
