What does the ICAR AIEEA PG 2027 syllabus cover?
The syllabus is set group by group. You choose one major subject group in the application form, and your whole paper comes from that group’s syllabus.
- The level is the Bachelor’s degree of the matching stream, such as B.Sc. (Ag.), B.V.Sc. & AH, B.F.Sc. or B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering).
- Many groups start with a unit on the importance of agriculture in the national economy, followed by units on the core subject.
Which major subject groups are in ICAR AIEEA PG?
The 2026 bulletin, the latest one, lists 20 major subject groups with 81 sub-subjects. You qualify in a group, and you choose a sub-subject within it at counselling.

What topics are in a subject group syllabus?
Each group is divided into units in ICAR’s syllabus. For example, Agronomy has nine units:
- General: importance of agriculture and basic principles of crop production
- Principles of agronomy
- Field crops
- Weed management
- Water management
- Soil fertility and fertiliser use
- Dryland agronomy
- Problem soils
- Sustainable land use systems
Social Sciences, as another example, has five units: the importance of agriculture, economic theory such as consumer behaviour and demand, farm management, extension education, and communication.
What is the ICAR AIEEA PG 2027 exam pattern and marking?
The exam is one 2-hour computer-based paper of 120 questions for 480 marks, in English only. A correct answer gets 4 marks, a wrong one loses 1, and an unattempted question gets 0.

How to Prepare for ICAR AIEEA PG 2027
Start with the units of your own major subject group and use your Bachelor’s course notes and standard textbooks.
- Read every unit of your group in the ICAR PDF and mark the ones you did not study in college.
- Solve the ICAR AIEEA PG previous year question papers for your subject group to see the question style.
- Practise timed 120-question sets, and avoid blind guesses because each wrong answer costs 1 mark.
