CEED 2026 Part A Cut Off Formula

IIT Bombay applies a statistical formula to determine the CEED 2026 Part A cut off (released on 5 February 2026). Only candidates whose Part A marks are at or above this cut off get their Part B answer sheet evaluated.

  • Formula: δ = µ + (σ / 2)
  • µ (mu): Average of marks scored by all candidates in Part A
  • σ (sigma): Standard deviation of marks scored by all candidates in Part A
  • δ (delta): The Part A cut off mark
  • Category Relaxation: SC / ST / OBC-NCL / PwD candidates get a lower cut off as per IIT Bombay norms (typically a fraction of the General cut off)
  • Once Part A cut off is crossed, the total CEED 2026 score (Part A + Part B with brochure weightage) determines the all-India rank.
