CEED previous year question papers from 2015 to 2026 are free to download here, the full IIT Bombay paper with Part A and Part B for every year, with Part A answer keys for 2019 to 2026. Since 2024, Part A has 44 questions for 150 marks in 1 hour and Part B has five compulsory design questions in 2 hours, so the 2024, 2025 and 2026 papers match CEED 2027 on 17 January 2027.

How the CEED Paper Changed (2015–2026)
- 2015 to 2019: Part A had 41 to 50 questions for 100 marks. A wrong NAT answer cost 0.6 in 2015 and 2016; from 2017 only wrong MCQs lost marks. Part B offered seven or eight questions with a choice.
- 2020 to 2023: Part A settled at 41 questions for 100 marks (8 NAT, 10 MSQ, 23 MCQ), and Part B became five compulsory questions of 20 marks.
- 2024 onwards: Part A grew to 44 questions and 150 marks, with partial marks for MSQs and −1 for a wrong one. Part B stayed at five questions.
- Using older papers: the Part B questions and Part A question types of every year are still good practice. Score older Part A attempts with the year’s own marking.
How to Use CEED Previous Year Papers?
- Sit both parts in one 3-hour block. Part A gives about 82 seconds a question. Then go straight into 2 hours of Part B, about 24 minutes for each of the five questions.
- Be careful with MSQs. A fully wrong MSQ costs 1 mark, but picking only the options you are sure of earns partial marks. A wrong MCQ costs 0.5 against 3 for a right one, so an informed guess there is worth taking.
- Give Part B most of your practice. It is 75% of the final score. Solve the Part B questions of 2020 to 2026, which use today’s five-question format, and get your sketches reviewed.
- Plan for 17 January 2027. About 11 weeks remain, and late-fee registration closes on 6 November 2026. One full 2024 to 2026 paper a week, scored with its key, fits before the exam.

How many questions are there in CEED?
Part A has 44 questions for 150 marks (8 NAT, 10 MSQ, 26 MCQ) and Part B has 5 questions for 100 marks. This has been the pattern since CEED 2024.
Is there negative marking in CEED?
Yes, in Part A: −1 for a wrong MSQ and −0.5 for a wrong MCQ. NAT questions and Part B have no negative marking.
How is the CEED final score worked out?
Final score = 0.25 × Part A marks + 0.75 × Part B marks. Part B is evaluated only if you clear the Part A shortlisting cut-off.
Which CEED papers have answer keys?
Every year from 2019 to 2026 has IIT Bombay’s Part A answer key. Part B has no model answers in any year.
What was the CEED 2026 Part A cut-off?
IIT Bombay put the 2026 Part A mean at 39.35, and the general shortlisting cut-off fell to about 47.80 out of 150, down from a mean of 45.48 in 2025.
Are CEED papers before 2024 still useful?
Yes for Part B and question types. Their Part A had 100 marks with different marking, so score them by that year’s rules.
