The DECE (LE) 2027 syllabus covers Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at Class 11 and 12 level, as listed in the BCECEB prospectus. Physics has 24 units, Chemistry is split into physical, inorganic and organic, and Mathematics has 15 units. The 2027 prospectus with any changes is expected in March 2027.

What does the DECE LE 2027 syllabus include?
The DECE (LE) syllabus has three subjects, and merit is based on your marks in all three. This is the structure given in the 2026 prospectus (Annexure 2).

How is the DECE LE 2027 paper marked?
The paper has multiple-choice questions with four options, answered on an OMR sheet in English or Hindi. Your rank depends on your total marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics; if two candidates tie, Mathematics marks decide first, then date of birth.
The 2026 prospectus does not give the number of questions, marks per question or negative marking, so read the instructions on the question booklet and in the 2027 prospectus.

How to Prepare for DECE LE 2027
- Start with your Class 11 and 12 NCERT Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics books, since the units follow that level.
- Give Mathematics extra time: it decides ties and has many units, including statics and dynamics that are not in every Class 12 course.
- If you are from an ITI or vocational background, revise basic Class 11 topics such as units, vectors, mole concept and trigonometry first.
- Practise marking answers on an OMR sheet with a blue or black ball-point pen, since erased or double-marked answers are treated as wrong.
