What is GITAM GAT? GITAM GAT stands for GITAM Admission Test. It is a university-level common entrance exam conducted by Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) Deemed University. Also referred to as GAT UGTP (Undergraduate Test Programme) for UG courses and GAT PGTP for PG courses, GITAM GAT is the gateway to B.Tech, B.Arch, BCA, BBA, B.Sc, B.Pharm, B.Sc Nursing, MBA, M.Tech, MCA and many other programmes across GITAM’s three campuses — Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), Hyderabad (Telangana), and Bengaluru (Karnataka). The exam is conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode and also as an online proctored test for select programmes. GITAM conducts the exam in multiple phases (up to 7–8 phases per year), and candidates can appear in more than one phase; the best rank is considered for admission.

GITAM GAT 2026 registration is ongoing for Phase 5 (last date: 12 June 2026). Phases 6 and 7 registrations will open subsequently. Candidates must apply at apply.gitam.edu. Before applying, ensure you meet the eligibility criteria and keep the following ready:
- Eligibility Check: Pass or appearing in Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (for B.Tech). Minimum aggregate of 60% in qualifying exam (55% for CBSE/ICSE candidates). NIOS candidates are also eligible.
