WB JELET 2027 (Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry) is the OMR-based test WBJEEB holds for direct second-year admission to B.E./B.Tech and B.Pharm courses in West Bengal. WB JELET 2027 Important Dates
WBJEEB has not announced the JELET 2027 schedule, so the dates below are expected months. In 2026 applications ran from 19 March to 11 April and the exam was held on 13 June 2026, but the timing can move: the 2025 exam was held on 18 October 2025.

How to Apply for WB JELET 2027
You apply for JELET 2027 online only, on the WBJEEB website, once the 2027 information bulletin is out. There is no printed form, and you must not submit a second application.
Apply Online for WB JELET 2027
Applications for WB JELET 2027 are expected in March 2027.
- Open the WBJEEB JELET page and click the JELET 2027 registration link when it goes live.
- Register with your name, father’s and mother’s names, date of birth, ID type and number, address, mobile number and email ID. Name, parents’ names, domicile and date of birth cannot be changed later.
- Create a password and note the application number shown on screen. It is also sent to you by SMS and email.
- Fill in the application: qualifying exam (Diploma in Engg/Tech, Diploma in Pharmacy, B.Sc., D.Voc or B.Voc), domicile, category, PwD status, academic details, and three exam zones in order of preference.
- Upload a recent colour photograph (JPG, 10 to 200 KB) and your signature (JPG, 4 to 30 KB) in one step.
- Pay the fee by net banking, card, UPI or QR code and download the confirmation page. The application is incomplete until this page is generated.
Other details can be corrected only in the correction window, which was 13 to 14 April in 2026. The fees below are from the 2026 bulletin; WBJEEB will confirm the 2027 amounts in the new bulletin. PwD candidates can ask the Board for a 40% fee concession.

The fee is not refundable. Banks charge no service fee on the payment.
Who can apply for WB JELET 2027?
Any Indian citizen with one of the qualifications below can sit JELET. Diploma holders have no upper age limit; B.Sc. candidates must be 27 or younger and marine engineering diploma holders 25 or younger (as on 31 December 2026 for the 2026 exam).

B.Sc. and B.Voc candidates get a seat only if seats remain after diploma holders are placed, and must clear first-year Engineering Mechanics and Engineering Drawing along with second-year subjects. You need West Bengal domicile (10 years’ continuous residence, or a parent who is a permanent resident) for any seat in a government-aided college, Jadavpur University or Aliah University, and for any reserved seat.
What is the WB JELET 2027 exam pattern?
JELET has two papers and you write one: Paper I for Engineering/Technology diploma, B.Sc., B.Voc and D.Voc candidates, and Paper II for Pharmacy diploma holders. Both are two-hour OMR papers of 100 multiple-choice questions in English. The 2026 pattern is below.

How does WB JELET counselling work?
WBJEEB fills JELET seats through online e-counselling against a seat matrix set by the Directorate of Technical Education, West Bengal. Only candidates with a valid GMR (engineering) or PMR (pharmacy) can register.
- The 2026 counselling ran in three rounds from 2 to 25 September 2026, each with fresh registration, choice filling, allotment and reporting.
- The counselling registration fee was Rs 500, not refundable.
- Allotment follows your GMR or PMR, eligibility, category, seat availability and the order of your locked choices. WBJEEB advises filling at least 20 choices.
- After an allotment you choose upgradation ‘Yes’ or ‘No’. If you are allotted your first choice, or choose ‘No’, you must complete document verification and admission at the institute or you are out of counselling.
