HP State PG Dental Admission 2018 – Directorate of Medical Education & Research Himachal Pradesh issued the notification for admission in PG (MDS) courses for the academic year 2018-19. Admission will be done on the basis of NEET MDS 2018. Admission to 50% State quota PG (MDS) degree seats in Govt. Dental College and in Pvt. un-aided Dental Colleges of the State (State quota and Management Quota) shall be filled up on the basis of state merit which will be drawn on the basis of NEET-MDS-2018 ranking being conducted by the National Board of Examination, New Delhi. HP State PG Dental Admission 2018 through NEET MDS

The Department of Medical Education & Research will conduct Counseling during the month of April 2018 for filling-up of 50% State Quota PG (MDS) Degree seats in H.P. Govt. Dental College & Hospital Shimla. 50% State Quota and 50% Management Quota seats in private un-aided Dental Colleges of the State, as per H.P state merit drawn NEET-MDS-2018 result by the member Secretary-cum-Principal, H.P Govt. Dental College and Hospital Shimla, (MDS) Counselling Committee.

Eligibility Criteria

In-service M.O. Dental candidates (Regular/Contract/RKS) are eligible for PG(MDS) courses as per NEET-MDS ranking/marks.

Direct Group

  1. Graduates (BDS) of Govt. and private Dental Colleges of the Himachal Pradesh ( i.e. H.P. Govt. Dental College, Shimla, Himachal Dental College & Hospital Sundernagar, Distt. Mandi, Bhojia Dental College & Hospital, Nalagarh, MNDAV Dental College, Tatul, Distt. Solan and Himachal Institute of Dental Sciences, Paonta Sahib, Distt. Sirmour).
  2. Bonafide Himachalis who have done BDS from any institute recognized by Dental Council of India (DCI).
  3. Children of H.P. Government employees /employees of Autonomous Bodies wholly or partially financed by H.P. Government getting admission to BDS course through CBSE or any other All India Entrance Examination in DCI/G.O.I. any recognized Dental Colleges in India.

Candidates seeking admission will have to:

(a) Possess BDS degree from Himachal Pradesh University or any other University recognized by Dental Council of India. The internship should be completed within the 1st round of Counselling.

(b) Candidate must be registered with either Dental Council of India or any of the State Dental Council in India.

(c) The candidate possessing foreign qualifications (BDS Degree) will have to produce the certificate of having passed the DCI examination as well as the certificate of recognition by DCI at the time of the 1st round of counselling.

For 50% management quota seats in private un-aided Dental Colleges, non-Bonafide/Domicile candidates can also apply as per NEET-PG MDS ranking/marks.

Application Form

All desirous eligible candidates, Direct and In-service, (M.O. Dental) are required to submit their Application Form in original well in time, complete in all respects either by Hand or by Registered/Speed post in the office of the Principal, H. P. Govt. Dental College & Hospital, Shimla. In-service (M.O. Dental) candidates are required to submit their application form along with “No Objection Certificate” from the competent authority. In case NOC is not attached with the application form his/her candidature will not be considered for the Common Counseling.

Bank Draft amounting to Rs. 1500/- for General category and Rs. 1000/- for SC/ST category drawn in favour of Principal, H.P Govt. Dental College and Hospital, Shimla on or before the last date. Thereafter no application form can be submitted.

HP State PG Dental 2018 Counselling

The Common Counselling will be held on dates mentioned in the Prospectus. The allotment of available seats to the eligible candidates will be made in order of merit as per state combined merit drawn (Category-wise) by the Member Secretary-cumPrincipal, H.P. Govt. Dental College, Shimla PG (MDS) Counselling Committee on the basis of the NEET-MDS-2018 result. Of those candidates who have applied on the prescribed application form within stipulated date for admission to PG(MDS) degree courses in H.P. Govt. Dental College Shimla and Pvt. un-aided Dental Colleges of the State of H.P. for the academic session 2018-19. All the eligible candidates will have to bring their original documents. No separate communication will be made to the candidates for attending the counselling. The selected candidates must have submitted, the H.P. University Enrolment No. /migration certificate at the time of admission in the concerned college.

Qualifying criteria for applying PG(MDS) counseling-2018 is as under:

  • General Category – 50% percentile
  • SC/ST – 40% percentile
  • Person with Disability – 45% percentile

Candidate’s less than above percentile in NEET-MDS-2018 is not eligible to apply for the counseling.

It will be entire responsibility of the candidate to procure the prospectus and submit the Application form within the stipulated date. The Director, Medical Education & Research, HP and the Principal, H. P. Government Dental College & Hospital Shimla will not be responsible for any delay for non-receipt/ misplacement/loss of prospectus/ application form in transit.
