HPU MAT 2027 (Himachal Pradesh University Management Aptitude Test) is the entrance test that HP University Business School (HPUBS), Shimla, holds for admission to its 2-year MBA. The 2027 dates are not announced yet. Going by 2026, the form should open around April 2027 and the offline test should be held in June 2027.

How to Apply for HPU MAT 2027
You apply online on the HPU admissions portal once HPUBS opens the MBA form, expected in April 2027. Final-year graduates can apply too.
Apply Online for HPU MAT 2027
Applications for HPU MAT 2027 are expected in April 2027.
- Open the HPU admissions portal and choose Apply For New Admission.
- Select the HPUBS MBA (HPU-MAT) admission when it is listed and register with your basic details.
- Fill in your personal details and your Class 10, Class 12 and graduation marks. These marks are used for the application rating.
- Choose subsidised seats, non-subsidised seats or both. The fee depends on this choice.
- Upload the documents the form asks for, pay the fee online and submit.
- Save your registration ID and password. You need them to download the admit card later.

Who can apply for HPU MAT 2027?
You need a bachelor’s degree in any stream with at least 50% marks, or 45% if you are SC or ST, as per the HPUBS eligibility rules.
- Any first bachelor’s degree from a university established by law in India is accepted.
- Students in the final year of their degree can sit HPU-MAT. In 2026 they had to show proof of passing the degree at the GD and interview stage.
- HPUBS admits MBA students only through HPU-MAT, GD, interview and application rating, so CAT, CMAT, MAT or XAT scores do not count.
What is the HPU MAT 2027 exam pattern?
HPU-MAT is an objective test of 200 multiple-choice questions in four sections of 50 questions each.

Where is HPU MAT held?
HPUBS lists eight possible centres: Shimla, Solan, Hamirpur, Palampur, Una, Mandi, Dharamshala and Nalagarh. A centre is used only if enough candidates choose it. In 2026 the test was reported at seven centres, all of these except Nalagarh.
How does HPUBS select MBA students after HPU MAT?
HPU-MAT marks decide who is called for group discussion (GD) and personal interview (PI). Normally three candidates are called for each seat.
- HPUBS publishes the HPU-MAT result and separate GD/PI call lists for subsidised and non-subsidised seats.
- Shortlisted candidates attend the GD and personal interview on the dates in the call list.
- The final merit list combines the test, GD, PI and application rating. 30 marks for the application rating in 2026.
- Admission lists are issued in rounds. In 2026 HPUBS issued three lists for each seat type and a sports-category list.
Subsidised and non-subsidised candidates compete only within their own group. Practise with the HPU MAT question papers before the test.
