Himachal Pradesh University Business School (HPUBS), Shimla, conducts the HPU MAT 2026 entrance test to admit candidates to its prestigious MBA programme. Around 3,000 candidates appear for the offline test every year, with HPUBS offering approximately 120 seats (60 subsidised + 60 non-subsidised). Admission is granted on the combined performance in HPU-MAT, Group Discussion, Personal Interview, and Application Rating. Normally, three candidates are called for GD and PI for each seat. Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognised university with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC / ST / OBC candidates).
- Final-year students awaiting results are also eligible to apply, provided they submit proof of qualification by the time of admission.
- Age Limit: Maximum 26 years for boys, 28 years for girls, and 29 years for SC / ST girls (as of the cut-off date). Age limit is not applicable for non-subsidised seats, defence personnel, and nominees of the State / Central Government.
- Candidates with scores in national-level management tests such as CAT, XAT, MAT, or CMAT are not eligible for admission on the basis of those scores; they must appear for HPU-MAT.
