What does the HPU MCA 2027 syllabus cover?
HPU lists the syllabus as three section heads with fixed marks. It does not publish a topic-by-topic list.

What is in Section A, logical ability and aptitude?
Section A tests general reasoning and aptitude for 20 marks. Practise standard reasoning sets such as series, analogies, coding-decoding and simple arithmetic word problems, since HPU gives no fixed topic list.
What is in Section B, Mathematics of +2 level?
Section B is set at the Class 11 and 12 level for 20 marks. Revise the senior secondary mathematics you studied, such as algebra, matrices, trigonometry, coordinate geometry, calculus and probability.
What is in Section C, Computer Awareness?
Computer Awareness is the biggest section, with 60 of the 100 marks. Because the test is meant for BCA and computer graduates, revise the core subjects of your degree: computer fundamentals, number systems, programming basics, data structures, operating systems, databases and networking.
What is the HPU MCA 2027 exam pattern and marking?
- One written paper of 100 marks.
- Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes.
- Three sections: aptitude 20, mathematics 20 and computer awareness 60.
- Qualifying marks: 35 out of 100 for both subsidised and non-subsidised seats.
- If two candidates tie, the higher percentage in the qualifying degree ranks first.

The section heads and marks are in the HPU MCA Handbook of Information. A new handbook is normally released with the application form, expected in April 2027.

How to prepare for HPU MCA 2027?
- Start with Computer Awareness, since it carries 60% of the marks.
- Revise Class 11 and 12 mathematics chapter by chapter and solve timed practice sets.
- Do a short reasoning and aptitude set every day to build speed.
- Take full 100-mark practice tests in 90 minutes, so the time limit feels normal by June 2027.
- Aim well above 35 marks. Only the qualifying mark is fixed; the rank needed for a seat changes every year.
