The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB), Ranchi is responsible for conducting and declaring the results of state-level entrance exam JCECE. As per the past trend, the board generally declares the result after the one week of date of exam. The conducting board prepares the combined merit-list as well as category-wise Merit-list of the aspirants who qualifies the exam. The JCECE 2018 Result will be declared on the official website www.jceceb.nic.in in the month of May, 2018.
The logic is quite simple i.e., higher marks in the qualifying exam would secure him/ her a higher rank based on which the merit-list shall be made. There might be a situation in which two or more aspirants achieved the same total then an inter-se-merit list shall be prepared which would be helpful in shortlisting the aspirants. After the announcement of results, two rounds of counselling will be held to allot seats to the deserved aspirants.
Tentative Schedule of JCECE 2018 Result
The JCECE 2018 exam shall take place in the third week of May, 2018 followed by the declaration of result after one week itself. The expected timelines mentioned below are as per the past trend:
|JCECE 2018 Examination||Third week of May, 2018|
|JCECE 2018 Result||Fourth week of May, 2018|
A merit-list contains the list of shortlisted candidates who obtained marks over the cut-off point and higher rank would secure them a seat in one of the colleges under JCECEB. The board will publish the following lists-
Combined Merit List: This list includes the name of all shortlisted candidates from both reserved and unreserved categories.
Category Wise Merit List: There will be separate list of shortlisted candidates for reserved and unreserved category.
This list shall be prepared when there is tie-breaker between two or more students i.e., two or more aspirants with same number of marks. In such case, the following rules will come into play:
B.V.Sc. & AH., B.H.M.S. and B.F.. Sc. (Bachelor of Fisheries Science) Stream
- Better marks in Biology shall break the tie.
- More score in Chemistry shall be preferred.
- Aspirants older in age will be considered.
- As per English alphabetical order of First Name
It is pretty clear from above tie-breaking rules that if you obtain higher marks in biology then you shall be shortlisted for the desired course. Another tie would demand more marks in chemistry by you. Subsequent tie would favour the senior aspirants and ultimately, alphabetical order of first name shall decide the name of qualifying candidates.
