Notification for Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (JCECE) to be held by Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) for the academic year 2018 would be published soon inviting applications from the eligible candidates so that the admission to programmes like 01st year of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, B.V.Sc. & AH, B.Tech. (Dairy Technology), B.F.Sc., (Bachelor of Fisheries Science), B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry, Homeopathy degree courses can be decided. The Board will issue an Information Bulletin regarding the same which would be downloadable from the official website i.e in the Downloads column. All the candidates are advised to check their eligibility before they consider applying. If the eligibility s met then the applications can be made in online mode only by clicking the link “Online Applications for J.C.E.C.E-2018“. The candidate has to give the examination in PCM/PCB/PCMB group.

The applications are to begin from 02nd week of April 2018 and it would be filled at only till 01st week of May 2018. There will be no need to send the application to anyone. However, you must retain the hard copy of the confirmation page with you. You are advised to furnish the particulars honestly. Then you will be issued the online admit card by 2 weeks before the exam. The issued admit card by the Board must be kept until the admission process is over. There will be only one stage of admission. The result of the written test will be declared by 04th week of May 2018. After the entrance test, the candidate would be subject to document verification in the counselling.

JCECE 2018 Eligibility Criteria

i) Domicile Requirement

The applicant must be a permanent/local resident of Jharkhand state. Also they should be able to produce a valid Local residential Certificate which is issued in their name by the Jharkhand State authority.

(ii) Age Criteria

  • For B.Sc. {Hons.) Agriculture & B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry – Min. 17 years and max. 22 years as on 01st July 2018.
  • For B.V.Sc. & A.H. – Min. 17 years and max. 22 years as on 01st July 2018.
  • For B.H.M.S. – Min. 17 years as on or before 31 December 2018
  • B.Tech.(Dairy Technology) & B.F.Sc. (Bachelor of Fisheries Science) – Min. 17 years as on 1st July 2018.

(iii) Qualification Required

  • Qualifying Exam:- 12th pass from a recognized board is mandatory
  • Subjects:- must have studied Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/Biology/English
  • Minimum Marks:- a minimum of 50% marks for General and 45% for reserved category
  • Qualifying Examination Appearing Candidates:- those who are going to appear in the qualifying examination may also apply on conditions that the qualifying examination must be cleared before the result of JCECE is announced.

(iv) Physical Fitness- a candidate must be physically fit for the course.

Application Form

The application forms are to be filled in the online mode by visiting the official website at from 01st week of April 2018 to 04th week of APril 2018. The candidates are required to keep all the documents such as Aadhar Card, scanned images of photograph, signature and left hand thumb impression etc. ready before they fill the application form. Also choose the mode of payment you want to pay the fees by.

JCECE Exam Pattern

JCECE 2018 exam will be held in Offline mode i.e Pen & Paper form. The exam will have

  • Type of Question: The question paper will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).
  • Marking Scheme: 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer.
  • Negative Marking: ¼ marks will be deducted from the total score for wrong answers
    Total marks: 150 marks.
  • Language: English and Hindi language.
  • Duration of Exam: 1 hour will be given for the mathematics and 2 hour will be provided for the Physics & Chemistry

Reservation Policy

Test center- The test will be held at Bokaro, Ranchi, Dumka, Dhanbad, Hazaribagh, Jamshedpur. While filling the form, you would be able to pick your choice of centre to appear for the test. You would give two options.


Board will announce the result in the 04th week of May 2018 on the official website. After evaluating the sheets, the result will be made available for download. There is no provision of requesting re-checking or re-evaluating answer sheets.


After the result declaration, the examinees would be called for Online counselling. There are possibilities that there will be 2 rounds of counselling in which candidates will be allowed to sit after they pay the charges of Rs. 650/- (Rs. 400 in case of SC/ST/ Female of all categories) to participate in the counselling.
