JEMAT 2027: Exam Date, Application, Eligibility

JEMAT 2027 (Joint Entrance Management Aptitude Test) is West Bengal’s state-level MBA entrance test, conducted by MAKAUT, WB on behalf of the state government. It is expected in June 2027, with online applications around May 2027. JEMAT ranks are used for MBA, MBA (Hospital Administration) and other management seats in West Bengal institutes.

Latest (9 October 2026): MAKAUT has not announced JEMAT 2027 yet; the JEMAT portal still shows the 2026 cycle, which ended with e-counselling (8 to 11 July) and allotment cards in July 2026.

MAKAUT has not released the JEMAT 2027 schedule, so the dates below are expected months based on 2026, when applications ran from 10 May to 1 June and the test was held on 7 June 2026.

How to Apply for JEMAT 2027

You apply for JEMAT 2027 online on the JEMAT portal run by MAKAUT; there is no offline form. The application link is expected to open in May 2027.

Applications for JEMAT 2027 are expected in May 2027.

Click Apply Online on the JEMAT portal and register. Your registration number is sent by SMS and email (check the spam folder).
Open Applicant Login and sign in with your registration number, password and the security code.
Fill in your name, gender, date of birth, category, PwD status, qualification, email, mobile number and address.
Upload a recent colour photograph and your signature in JPG/JPEG format, within the size limits shown on the portal.
Pay the fee through the online payment gateway and keep the payment slip.
Check all details, accept the declaration, submit and print the completed form for future reference.

The fee is non-refundable, so do not pay twice for the same application. The 2027 fee will be confirmed in the new brochure.

Who can apply for JEMAT 2027?

Any graduate, or final-year student, with a 3 or 4-year Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university can apply for JEMAT 2027. The 2026 rules were:

Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, Technology, Medical, Dental, Agriculture or another professional course
Degrees from IGNOU or any open university within state jurisdiction are accepted
Final-year students get provisional admission and must submit the final marksheet by the deadline MAKAUT sets
Candidates from outside West Bengal can apply
There is no upper age limit
Foreign students are not eligible

What is the JEMAT 2027 exam pattern?

JEMAT is a 60-minute computer-based test with 50 multiple-choice questions worth 2 marks each. This was the 2026 scheme; MAKAUT will confirm the 2027 pattern in the new brochure.

Which courses and colleges accept JEMAT?

JEMAT ranks are used for MBA admission at MAKAUT and at government and private management institutes across West Bengal. The 2026 brochure listed these programmes:

Institutes may admit students through one national test (CAT, MAT, XAT or CMAT) and JEMAT, or through only one of them. Qualifying JEMAT alone does not guarantee a seat, since colleges can set their own criteria.

How does admission work after JEMAT 2027?

After the test MAKAUT issues rank cards, then runs a centralised e-counselling and choice filling round before issuing allotment cards. In 2026 the rank cards came out on 20 June and choice filling ran from 8 to 11 July 2026. Details are on the JEMAT result page.

Is there a minimum percentage in graduation for JEMAT?

The official eligibility rules do not state a minimum percentage. You need a 3 or 4-year Bachelor’s degree; individual colleges may have their own admission criteria.

Can students from other states apply for JEMAT 2027?

Yes. MAKAUT’s FAQ says candidates who are not permanent residents of West Bengal, or who did not study at MAKAUT, can apply.

Is there an age limit for JEMAT?

No. The brochure says there is no upper age limit for admission.

Can I use a CAT or MAT score instead of JEMAT?

Yes, at many institutes. For MBA admission you need a valid JEMAT, CAT or MAT rank or percentile card, and colleges choose which tests they accept.

Are foreign students eligible for JEMAT?

No. Foreign students are not eligible to sit for JEMAT.
