What is MAH AAC (Fine Art) CET?

The MAH AAC (Fine Art) CET stands for Maharashtra Applied Arts and Crafts (Fine Art) Common Entrance Test. It is conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell (State CET Cell), Government of Maharashtra, for the academic year 2026-27. The MAH AAC (Fine Art) CET 2026 is the gateway for admission to undergraduate Bachelor of Fine Art (BFA) courses in Fine Art and Applied Art, covering Drawing & Painting, Textile Design, Interior Decoration, Sculpture, Metal Works, and Ceramics. Admissions are carried out through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for participating government, aided, and unaided art colleges across Maharashtra. APAAR ID through DigiLocker is mandatory for CET registration.

Application Form

The application window opened on 29 January 2026 and closed on 16 March 2026 after one extension. Eligible candidates registered online at the State CET Cell candidate portal, generated their APAAR ID through DigiLocker, filled in personal and academic details, uploaded the required photograph and signature, and paid the application fee online. The form correction window was opened after the registration closed for candidates to edit errors before the admit card stage. Applicants who missed the deadline are not eligible to appear in the 2026 cycle and will need to wait for the next academic year notification.

Eligibility Criteria

The State CET Cell has prescribed the following eligibility criteria in its official information brochure.

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidates must have passed or be appearing in HSC / 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised board.
  • Subject Requirement: English must be one of the language subjects studied at the qualifying examination level.
  • Minimum Marks: Aggregate of 45% in the qualifying examination (40% for Maharashtra State SC, ST, and other reserved categories).
  • Age Limit: There is no upper age limit to appear for the test.
  • Nationality: Indian nationality is required. NRI, OCI, PIO, CIWGC, and Foreign National candidates must register separately as foreign candidates through the official CET portal.

Exam Pattern

The MAH AAC (Fine Art) CET 2026 was conducted in offline (pen and paper) mode in English language only. The test consisted of four papers – three practical papers of 50 marks each and one objective-type General Knowledge theory paper of 40 marks – with a total of 190 marks across a 5-hour duration. Admit Card

The State CET Cell released the admit card in online mode on 5 April 2026 at cetcell.mahacet.org. Registered candidates logged in with their application ID and password to download the hall ticket, which carried their roll number, exam centre, reporting time, photograph, signature, and important instructions. Answer Key

The answer key for the General Knowledge theory paper of MAH AAC (Fine Art) CET 2026 will be released by the State CET Cell at cetcell.mahacet.org. Once published, candidates can download the official answer key PDF, calculate their probable score, and raise objections within the prescribed window if any answer appears incorrect. Result

The result is tentatively scheduled for May 2026 at cetcell.mahacet.org. It will be issued in the form of a scorecard showing paper-wise marks, total score out of 190, percentile, and merit rank. Candidates will need their application number and password to log in and download the scorecard. Shortlisted candidates will then participate in the State CET Cell’s Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for seat allotment to participating BFA colleges in Maharashtra. CAP Counselling Process

Admissions on the basis of this exam will be conducted through a Centralised Admission Process (CAP) managed by the State CET Cell, Maharashtra. After the result is declared, qualified candidates must register on the CAP portal, fill in their college and course preferences, upload supporting documents for verification, and pay the participation fee. Multiple rounds of seat allotment are expected, and candidates allotted seats must complete document verification at the designated facilitation centres and report to the allotted college within the prescribed deadline. Vacant seats after CAP rounds may be filled through institute-level rounds.

The syllabus is divided across the three practical papers and the General Knowledge theory paper.
