MAT (Management Aptitude Test) is a national MBA entrance test conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) four times a year. The current session is MAT December 2026: the paper-based test (PBT) is scheduled for 20 December and the computer-based test (CBT) for 27 December 2026. B-schools use MAT scores for MBA and PGDM admission.

How to Apply for MAT December 2026
You apply online at mat.aima.in, where registration for MAT December 2026 is open until 14 December 2026 for the PBT and 21 December 2026 for the CBT. You pick a test mode, upload your photo and signature, choose the institutes that will get your score and pay the fee.

Applications for MAT 2026 open on By 14 December 2026.
- Open the MAT registration portal and register with a valid email ID and mobile number, which are verified by OTP.
- Choose the test mode: PBT, CBT, or both PBT and CBT.
- Upload a recent colour passport-size photo (JPG, 10 to 50 KB, light background) and your signature in black ink on white paper (JPG, 5 to 20 KB).
- Select up to 5 management institutes to receive your score (7 if you take both modes).
- Pay the fee by debit or credit card, UPI, net banking or wallet.
- Fill in your personal, qualification and work-experience details, preview the form and submit it.

After submitting, you can still upgrade your test mode or add institutes from the dashboard. You can edit your details except name, date of birth, email ID and mobile number.
How to log in to the MAT December 2026 applicant dashboard?
The MAT applicant dashboard is where you complete and pay for your form, add institutes or a second test mode, download your admit card and later your scorecard.
- Open the official MAT login page.
- Enter the email ID and password you created at registration, or choose the option to log in with an OTP.
- Your applicant dashboard opens with your MAT December 2026 application and its status.
- Use it to finish the form, pay the fee, upgrade your test mode or add institute choices.
- From 17 December 2026 (PBT) or 24 December 2026 (CBT), download your admit card here. The scorecard is also downloaded from this dashboard after the result.

Who can apply for MAT December 2026?
Any graduate in any discipline from a recognised university can apply for MAT December 2026.
- Final-year students of any undergraduate course (BA, BSc, BCom, BTech and so on) can appear provisionally.
- There is no age limit.
- Work experience is not needed.
- MAT itself sets no minimum graduation percentage, but most B-schools have one. Check the prospectus of each institute you target.
What is the MAT December 2026 exam pattern?
MAT is an objective test of 150 multiple-choice questions in five sections of 30 questions each, to be finished in 120 minutes.

- 0.25 mark is deducted for each wrong answer.
- All five sections count equally in the composite score.
- The pattern is the same in PBT and CBT.

PBT or CBT: which MAT mode should I choose?
Both modes have the same paper and score scale, so choose the one you are more comfortable with. AIMA now offers only these two modes; the earlier home-based internet test (IBT) is not offered for December 2026.
- PBT: one fixed date for all candidates (20 December 2026). You mark answers on an OMR sheet, so bring a pen, HB pencils, an eraser and a sharpener.
- CBT: you answer on a computer at a test centre on 27 December 2026 and must keep to the date and time slot on your admit card. Basic keyboard and mouse skills are needed.
- Taking both modes costs Rs 4,000 and lets you send scores to 7 institutes instead of 5.
- A test centre opens only if enough candidates register for it, and the December 2026 session lists 67 test cities.
How is the MAT score calculated?
AIMA reports a score for each of the five sections on a 0 to 100 scale and a composite score on a 200 to 800 scale, each with a percentile figure. Scores from different sessions are normalised so they can be compared, and a MAT score is valid for one year. See the MAT result page for how to download the scorecard.
