MCAER PG CET 2027: Dates, Form, Eligibility, Pattern

MCAER PG CET 2027 (PG-CET 2027) is the entrance test for master’s degree admission in agriculture and allied subjects at Maharashtra’s four state agricultural universities. MAUEB, Pune conducts it for MCAER. Applications are expected in January to February 2027 and the exam between April and June 2027. Admission merit is 70% CET marks and 30% UG CGPA.

Latest (4 October 2026): MCAER put Day 2 of the third PG admission round for 2026-27 on hold (circular of 4 October 2026). PG-CET 2027 has not been announced yet.

MAUEB has not announced PG-CET 2027 yet. In 2026 applications ran from 29 January to 23 February, and the exam planned for April was finally held on 27 to 29 June 2026, so the 2027 dates below are expected months.

How to Apply for MCAER PG CET 2027

You apply online only, through the PG-CET link on mcaer.org. One application covers all the CET subjects you are eligible for, but the fee is charged per subject. You do not upload certificates at this stage; documents are checked at admission.

Applications for MCAER PG CET 2027 are expected in January 2027.

Open mcaer.org and click the PG-CET online application link (under MAUEB, Examination Board).
Register with a valid email ID and mobile number, verify the mobile number by OTP and create a password.
Log in with your application number, registered mobile number or email ID and the password.
Fill in personal, category, address and UG degree details, then choose your CET subject(s) and one exam centre.
Upload your photo (JPG/JPEG/PNG, up to 35 KB, 300 x 200 pixels) and signature (up to 30 KB, 150 x 200 pixels), accept the declaration and review the form.
Pay the fee online by net banking, UPI, debit or credit card, then download and keep the Application Report. Do not post any printout.

The fee is non-refundable. A B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture graduate who takes the Agriculture, Horticulture and Forestry CETs, for example, pays Rs 2,700 (Open) or Rs 2,100 (reserved) in one payment.

Who can apply for MCAER PG CET 2027?

You can apply if you hold, or are in the final year of, a four-year bachelor’s degree from an agricultural university that matches your CET subject, with at least 5.0 CGPA. Students in the first, second or third year of a UG degree cannot apply.

Degrees must come from agricultural universities. Candidates from other states need a degree from an ICAR-accredited agricultural university, where applicable.
Some degrees open only one PG subject. For example, B.Tech. (Agril. Engg.) graduates can take the Agriculture CET only for Agricultural Meteorology.
Final eligibility for admission is set in MCAER’s PG Admission Prospectus, so check it before you choose subjects.

What is the MCAER PG CET 2027 exam pattern?

Each CET subject is a separate 2-hour paper of 200 multiple-choice questions on an OMR sheet, with no negative marking. Your result is shown as a percentage of marks.

An answer once marked cannot be changed. Scratching, overwriting, tick marks and multiple answers count as wrong. Topic weightages for each subject are on the MCAER PG CET 2027 syllabus page.

How does admission work after MCAER PG CET 2027?

After the result, MCAER runs a separate online PG admission process for MPKV Rahuri, Dr. PDKV Akola, VNMKV Parbhani and Dr. BSKKV Dapoli and their colleges. Merit is 70% of your CET marks and 30% of your UG CGPA.

Alongside the 70:30 rule, the PG Prospectus 2026-27 set a minimum of 55% (5.5 on a 10-point scale) for Open and 50% (5.0) for reserved categories.
30% of seats in most PG courses are filled through the ICAR all-India entrance exam, not PG-CET.
Of the remaining seats, half go to the Maharashtra (‘M’) quota and half to the university (‘U’) quota.
Admission to M.Sc. (Post Harvest Management) uses your highest score among the Agriculture, Horticulture, Agril. Engineering, Biotechnology, Food Technology, Forestry and Fisheries CETs.

Can I take more than one CET subject in MCAER PG CET 2027?

Yes. You can take every CET subject your degree makes you eligible for, using one application form. You pay the fee for each subject, and you get a separate admit card for each one.

Is MCAER PG CET the same as the ICAR PG entrance exam?

No. MCAER PG CET is the state test for the Maharashtra agricultural universities. About 30% of seats in most of their PG courses go through the ICAR all-India exam, and the rest are filled on PG-CET merit.

Can students from other states apply for MCAER PG CET 2027?

Yes, at the Open fee of Rs 900 per subject (2026 rate). The degree must be from an agricultural university, ICAR-accredited where applicable. Out-of-state candidates are limited to 2% of admission seats, except in private non-aided colleges.

Where are the MCAER PG CET exam centres?

In 2026 there were 17 centres at agricultural colleges across Maharashtra, including Pune, Akola, Nagpur, Parbhani, Dapoli, Rahuri, Kolhapur and Dhule. Not every centre offers every subject, so pick one that lists yours.

Is there an age limit for MCAER PG CET 2027?

The 2026 information bulletin does not mention any age limit. Eligibility depends on your UG degree, its duration and your CGPA. In-service candidates must also take the CET and meet the same merit rules.
