What is MP PAT?

MP PAT stands for the Madhya Pradesh Pre-Agriculture Test. It is conducted every year by the Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB) for the screening of candidates seeking admission to undergraduate programmes in Agriculture and allied sciences in Madhya Pradesh. The MP PAT 2026 score is used by Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya (RVSKVV), Gwalior and Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya (JNKVV), Jabalpur, along with their affiliated and constituent colleges, to admit candidates to four-year B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture, B.Sc (Hons) Horticulture, B.Sc (Hons) Forestry, and similar programmes. MP PAT 2026 Application Form

The MP PAT 2026 application form is released online at esb.mp.gov.in and esb.mponline.gov.in. Eligible candidates first complete Profile Registration on the MPESB portal (uploading photo, signature, and thumbprint), complete Aadhaar-linked e-KYC verification, then log in to fill the MP PAT 2026 form using the Profile ID and date of birth. Personal details, qualifying-exam details, category, and preferred exam centres are entered, after which candidates upload the recent photograph (with name and date stamped) and pay the application fee online. The fee differs by category – it is higher for Open category candidates and lower for SC / ST / OBC candidates of Madhya Pradesh. Candidates must save the payment receipt; the application number on the receipt is required to download the admit card later.

Eligibility Criteria

MPESB has prescribed the following eligibility criteria for MP PAT 2026. Candidates must verify each condition before applying.

  • Nationality: Indian citizen.
  • Domicile: Bona fide MP domicile candidates get reservation and fee concession; non-MP candidates can apply against general / Open seats subject to the rule book.
  • Qualifying exam: Class 12 (or equivalent) passed from a recognised board with Science stream – Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and/or Mathematics, and/or Agriculture as per the relevant programme.
  • Minimum marks: Typically at least 50% aggregate in PCB / PCM / PCMB / PCB+Ag for Open category candidates (40% for reserved categories) – exact percentage as per the latest MPESB rule book.
  • Age: Generally a minimum age of 17 years as on a specified cut-off date; upper age limit applies as per category in the rule book.
  • Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam may apply provisionally; final admission is subject to producing the qualifying-exam marksheet at the time of counselling.

MP PAT 2026 Exam Pattern

The MP PAT 2026 is conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode in bilingual format – English and Hindi. The paper has 200 multiple-choice questions on PCB / PCM / Agriculture topics at Class 12 level, to be attempted in 3 hours, with no negative marking.

MP PAT 2026 Admit Card

MPESB releases the MP PAT 2026 admit card approximately one week before the exam date at esb.mp.gov.in. Registered candidates can download the hall ticket by logging in to the candidate portal using their application number and date of birth. The hall ticket carries the roll number, exam centre address, reporting and gate-closing times, shift schedule, photograph, signature, and exam day instructions. Answer Key

The MPESB provisional answer key for MP PAT 2026 is published within a few days of the exam, along with the candidate response sheet. Candidates can log in to the portal, view the master question paper and recorded responses, and submit objections during the prescribed window with the applicable fee per question. Result and Scorecard

The MP PAT Result 2026 is expected at esb.mp.gov.in tentatively in July 2026, after the final answer key is processed. Counselling Process

Admission to the B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, and allied programmes is granted through the centralised counselling conducted by RVSKVV, Gwalior and JNKVV, Jabalpur for their respective regions, typically through MP Online. The MP PAT 2026 counselling schedule is notified after the result is declared, usually in July – August 2026. Qualified candidates register on the counselling portal, upload original documents for verification, pay the participation fee, and fill college and course preferences.
